Bullitt and Montgomery County updates....

Bullitt County is upgrading their Public Safety radio system.... installation is supposed to be ongoing with all new radios on line by 30 June 2009.... They will operate in Analog Mode using P-25 capable equipment... Radios will be programmed with: two police freqs, two fire freqs, two EMS freqs and, the fire knock-out freq...Each radio will also sport KSP’s Op freq and Mutual Aid... Initially, Law Enforcement freqs 1 and 2 and the fire Knock-Out freq will be simulcast across the county with Fire freqs available regionally within Bullitt County.... later everything will be simulcast across the county.

Montgomery County has some big changes planned.... starting with four new repeaters to operate initially as a conventional system that ultimately will become a narrowband digital trunked system (no mention yet as to which band, nothing new in ULS)... Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS and Emergency Management will be the charter users of the system which will reportedly be expanded to integrate Public Works, Public Health and the School System.... Equipment procurement is the next part of the project with operational status possibly coming in mid-December. Montgomery Sheriff's Deputies will carry new radios soon as well, the office is replacing their current inventory with P-25 compliant radios...

Santa is gonna be busy delivering digital scanners....

No. And you won't either unless:
1. SRT is activated and;
2. You're fairly close to were the SRT is operating.

Sometimes they also use, depending on the type of operation, the post freqs in the area they are activated.

Heard one today with the roof antenna...151.145 that was digital but not scrambled. Didn't see anything in the database making me think it was it unless the forestry is using apco 25 or something now
Guessing from your area...

Ok heres one for ya! on 463.825 I get talk that sounds like its BFI (garbage trucks) but when I search the FCC I get 463.825 as Lexmark International Lexington. But that can’t be, every morning at about 4am they start talking about dumpsters and land fields and big loads and they talk about going to other city’s like Richmond and Winchester . So does anyone know if 463.825 is BFI? And if not does anyone have frequencies for BFI/ garbage trucks in the Lexington Richmond area?
Thanks 206
This could be it? (thought i would give ULS a search)

Have a favor to ask of any of you Southern Kentucky LTR listeners... I am in the midst of placing location data for as many freqs/systems, etc, as possible... I opened PALCO and noticed there are a number of freqs that aren't listed and some that are listed don't belong... Just wondering if anyone in any of the areas PALCO serves would mind helping map this system.... The attached list is all the freqs listed for the variuous locations (including a freq listed for the Franklin site that comes back as a single freq in Albany).... Any help would be appreciated more than you'll know....

new green county ems freq

Unitcharlie, I've been hearing testing on the new green county ems freq most all day to day. Sounded really good when the radio service was doing voice testing. Not sure if its going to be completely conventional system or mixed conventional/digital. Reason for mentioning, today while they were testing i was hearing digital noise[(motorboating) that you'll hear on ksp freqs with conventional scanner] as well. Dont have a digital scanner to see if they was using digital as well or not. I would hear digital noise then analog voice testing, then digital noise, then analog voice and so on like that but it was mostly analog voice. Really hope saint nick brings me a new digital scanner for christmas so I could have figured out what was going on!

Thanx for the heads-up.... wonder what kind of radios they have? The ULS doesn't show them doing digital.... keep us posted when they go live.
(By the way, tell Santa that Scannermaster has their PSR500s on sale for $449.95:)!)

UnitCharlie, it may not have been digital noise that came from the Green County freq, but rather another dept. that i was picking up? Not sure if that freq. is being used around here digital or not by some other agency. I do pick up a Tennessee dept. on this freq also. On another note, I have a fellow firefighter on my dept. that is a paramedic with the Green County Ambulance Service. When I see him I'll ask a few questions and see if he can tell me a little more about the whole deal!

Don't know why you posted this here instead of the KSP thread but my guess would be that you are hearing the data being passed along from the trooper pressing one of the status buttons...Unitcharlie do you agree with this?

I agree, (And I don't get to listen to KSP as much as I'd like) and I just posted a similar question last month in the KSP thread.
It could also be digital noise from a weak signal...
but I'd say it's data from the trooper car.

new green county ems freq.

Well it only took a few minutes more of monitoring to get some more info. It WILL be mixed analog/digital. Heard EMS unit out testing, went to one location and asked for a radio check-dispatcher your sounding ok-ok now switch to digital and give me a radio check. Couple seconds later digital noise! Sounds like digital scanner in my very near future!

Wonder if we have another Nexedge agency to deal with in Kentucky? Ask if he'll let you see his radio. The ULS data doesn't show anything digital there.... Santa, I need an NX200/300 for Christmas!

I am leaning toward weak signal, especially given his location, there are a copuple of the Post 12 Freqs that will punch thru to Western Shelby but might be pretty weak without an external antenna.... aren't the status signals transmitted using the MDC freq (I've never really asked)?
