Bullitt and Montgomery County updates....
Bullitt County is upgrading their Public Safety radio system.... installation is supposed to be ongoing with all new radios on line by 30 June 2009.... They will operate in Analog Mode using P-25 capable equipment... Radios will be programmed with: two police freqs, two fire freqs, two EMS freqs and, the fire knock-out freq...Each radio will also sport KSP’s Op freq and Mutual Aid... Initially, Law Enforcement freqs 1 and 2 and the fire Knock-Out freq will be simulcast across the county with Fire freqs available regionally within Bullitt County.... later everything will be simulcast across the county.
Montgomery County has some big changes planned.... starting with four new repeaters to operate initially as a conventional system that ultimately will become a narrowband digital trunked system (no mention yet as to which band, nothing new in ULS)... Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS and Emergency Management will be the charter users of the system which will reportedly be expanded to integrate Public Works, Public Health and the School System.... Equipment procurement is the next part of the project with operational status possibly coming in mid-December. Montgomery Sheriff's Deputies will carry new radios soon as well, the office is replacing their current inventory with P-25 compliant radios...
Santa is gonna be busy delivering digital scanners....
