Not to confuse the situation, but some are and some aren't.... The only way to answer your question is program freqs into your radio and see what you hear.... then, compare notes here in the Unidentified FOX-GOLF Freqs Thread couple that with your powers of observation and try to come to an accurate conclusion.... find an old Fed Freq list somewhere and work from there.Yes, but is the FBI, OCTF and those "Federal Frequencies" on a repeater??
If they are programmed, then you need to listen.... and listen... someday you'll hear something... patience plays a big role in this scanning game.... there's a bunch of stuff on-the-air but it isn't on-the-air all the time.... the important thing is to be listening when it is on-the-air so you can identify it.....I have all of the federal freqs in my scanner and have never heard a thing on any of them.
"Charlie"
I am still trying to isolate that 162.9125, I think that is it don't have scanner in front of me. The "dispatcher" is not encrypted but the units are. Plus digital. Strong in all areas of Louisville.
Still gotta believe it is Foxtrot-Golf but need to try and confirm.
Just to give you an idea of the coverage if this, I have monitored it as far south as Taylor Co. and as far East as Danville.
I've had 162.91250 programmed in the 500 since September and haven't recorded a hit... for some reason I have it as TSA? Hope that is typo, hate the thoughts of checkpoints along the Parkway and 127 and 64.....
I'm here in Shelby county and just got the GRE 800 antenna for my pro 96 scanner and cant pick up ANYTHING... Spencer county is about the only other county I can pick up... KSP 4,5,and 12... Thought I would beable to pick up more than one post 12 tower (same for post 4 and 5)... Also thought I would beable to pick up post 15... guess not - any suggestions??
no but unitcharlie said he could pick up alot more... just with 800?? how do you suggest I pick up more counties besides shelby?
