If it is what I was hearing this morning it was Lexington Fire "Scene #3".... it was skip from somewhere, but I never could get close enough to see the freq it was coming in on.... there is also Fire School going on in Lexington this weekend, they usually use LEX FD radios for that as well....

not looked into that yet... when it does it again, i'll toggle over.. It will stop on that ID, and hold itself there for about 6 seconds, nothing being said.. just like someone is sitting on the mic..

Overnight Louisville was booming in on Lexington's TRS on 856.26250 and 857.26250 on talk group 08-043 (LexFD Fire #3).... a lot of Zodiac activity near the Falls and the dam and looking around under the I-64 bridge.... I crashed about 1:15 AM so I didn't finish the incident...

Yes, Somebody called in a boat hitting the dam and people in the water. Turned out to be false. But this was coming in on 800MHz? I'll have to listen to it some when in the area, this means they have added groups to their system. Might be for interoperability.

And in EDACS talkgroup mode... Earlier today they were on 08-044 as well.... it will be a long week! Also, was hearing another 800 TRS I believe out of Indiana but couldn't make out ewnough of what was being transmitted.....

It's a type I Motorola system, so it would look like EDACS, Was this on the BCD396?
Because that would have went to Control Channel mode. I'm not sure what would happen with a Radio Shack one.

What frequencies from Indiana were you hearing. Strange indeed about the system coming in on EDACS. The Indiana system might of been city of Columbus or Cummings Engine I think they have CC's in the range.

The freq I ran came back to Anderson, IN... don't remember the specific freq, but it is common with the old Lexington TRS. I picked it up on a 96 with an RS 800 meg antenna and a 396 an RH77CA antenna.... been a weird week.

Hey Charlie, I'm making a Utilities only bank for my Pro-95, and was curious as to if you knew any good frequencies I could plug in?

Things like road crews, salt trucks, stuff like that that run around the Lexington, Clark, Estill Co. Areas? I've raided the database and loaded up about 10 or 15 road department frequencies, and a few others, but was wondering if you had any others that were active?

Also, any talkgroups for Lexington's EDACS that might not be in the database just yet? Thanks dude!!!!

I keep a list with Ky American Water, the various power Coops in the area, etc with me so i can plug them in when I need them.... the ones I use are in the data base... but there are a bunch out there that haven't been confirmed.... especially away from the immediate fayette County area.... if you snag some news one send them in!

Today a Cement Trunk ran into a National Guard Building at the airport. On the news was a "security" person in fatigues, M-16 rifle, and a portable radio with shoulder mike that he was talking into... boy i wished Close Call worked through TV. But there seems to be active communication there at the airport with NG security. Someone in the area might want to listen up or do a search. Or do we already have an idea of what frequencies they are on... I was thinking the P-25 NG repeater.

NEVER MIND... WASN'T AIR EVAC.... NO IDEA WHO IT WAS (Air Evac just came on with a flight, normal DPL for them on the same tower!)
Has anyone noticed a change in tone on the Air Evac Lifeteam freq on the Campbellsville tower? I caught their test tones this morning on 153.38000 but there was a PL instead of a DPL.... didn't catch the PL, however.... (The skip at homeplate is awesome this morning, by the way!)

They are using the same DPL as always
If you are using a PRO 96 searching for PL tones and come across a freqquency using a DPL, alot of time it will give you a false reading of 136.5
Not sure why, it just does

FWIW, a properly designed DPL encoder sends a brief tone burst to close the RX squelch at the end of each transmission. This freq,. is close to 136.5 (I think it is 134."something"), so you will see a false PL decode sometimes.

Thanx mastr and trashman.... I just caught the "mystery" freq again... it is Air Evac out of Indiana... 153.38000/103.5 PL--I had the search function acitvated on the 97 because the airwaves are ripe again this morning... Air Evac popped thru clear as a bell! I thought I was getting too old to listen effectively....

About 1030 this morning I monitored a two-way conversation on 155.08500/732 DPL in northern Woodford County (Kentucky)... The only IDs during this conversation were, "National Guard at Fort Pickett, VA" and, "this is a test of the Track Star Satellite System". In this vicintiy the only listing for 155.08500 belongs to Kentucky State University with a 156.7 PL; however, there is a simulcast of the KSU Police on a freq listed to Frankfort (Kentucky) E-911 Center with a 732 DPL... The voice telling the world he was at Fort Pickett was a base, the other voice was mobile-he announced that he was doing 70 MPH (so I would assume on I-64 about ten miles distant or Bluegrass Parkway about five miles away--both leading to Fort Knox or the West Kentucky Training Site) and was tweaking his computer audio output per instructions from Fort Pickett. After a few minutes they faded into the static again..... Anyone know anything about this freq/tone and Track Star (a web search shows it is a GPS based tracking service)?

I have been monitoring the Louisville MetroSafe system, they have been simulcasting conventional channels over the new system, TG#00011 they are simulcasting 453.1000 CT141.3, I can't find this freq in the Louisville area database, they have identified themselves as LMPD, but it's not the regular LMPD urban, or suburban channels?
