460.8000 in Lewisburg area??

I have started packing my Icom IC-U82 for listening while I'm at work (seeing as we don't do much half the shift). the other night, I caught traffic on 460.8000 MHz in the Lewisburg, Logan County area. I tried to do a tone scan on it, but it would cut out often. I caught traffic of somewhat a business nature, often asking about "having something in the warehouse"?? I've searched the database and came up with nothing. Can anyone help??

I checked the Palco LTR listing. There is a 460.8000 in Bowling Green for the system. But, the way I understood it, the warehouse may have been in a seperate location from the business itself maybe. I'll keep listening in and update as I can.

What your heard was most likely Huish Detergents in Bowing Green on the PALCO LTR as unitcharlie said. I have listened recently and I know that they have a manufacturing facility on Nashville Road and a warehousing facility on Three Springs. I am not sure however, if the radio traffic is internal in one location or between the too. Regardless there is heavy traffic day and night. There are several others on this system I cannot identify. The list on RR is really old. I am currently attempting to listen so it can be updated.

Heads up in the Kentucky River ADD area…. Seems there are some changes afoot for scannists in Breathitt, Knott, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Owsley, Perry and Wolfe Counties… sometime soon new radios will be deployed the area for Fire, Rescue and Police. There will be some new freqs and all will have the Ky. River District Health Department freq (Kentucky River District Health Dept. WQHF402 151.60250/ 160.17000) as an area-wide interop as well as the appropriate Mutual Aid freq from the KYMAI list (all counties except Letcher will use VHF, Letcher is UHF). Letcher is supposed to receive an upgrade including a four channel voting system and new repeaters elsewhere; Knott receives a repeater for EMS or Fire and an upgrade to their remote sites; Owsley gets a digital radio system; Leslie gets a new repeater system; Jackson receives a repeater for Breathitt Co. Fire Depts.; Perry receives numerous upgrades to various systems… all eight counties receive gear to make the interoperability freq (151.60250/ 160.17000) mentioned above work during emergencies.

The new KRADD freq is the only thing I have found thus far in the FCC database, but the stuff I saw tells me there are plans to upgrade all radio gear to at 2011 Guidelines or better….

EDIT: spoke too soon, looks like there are some modifictions in the Letcher data as well....

As poor as Owsley County is I'm shocked their going digital. One of the first counties in eastern ky to go digital btw
Isn't that one of the poorest counties in Kentucky ?
What are they going to digital wise ? Hopefully APCO-25 Also if the other counties go digital I hope their APCO25 also.

Any info on laurel, clay, knox, pulaski. or whitley ?

These are very short summaries of the info I found.... some of these have gone on line, some haven't... regardless, it seems that many jurisdicitions in Kentucky are trying to take advantage of every grant dollar they can find to refit and get the best public service communications possible....

* Manchester PD/Clay Co. will be upgrading so all their First Responders will have the
ability to use KY Mutual Aid freqs; adding new MDC's, etc... Clay County plans to
enhance their 911 Center to include additional freqs for interop with other agencies,
the ability to bridge and patch between agencies....

* Kentucky WMD/HM Task Force 11 (Laurel County) is working on MDC's, etc

* Pulaski Co. HAZMAT 12 is planning for assorted interop radio gear to be housed in a
Communications Vehicle... including an ACU-1000 with associated HF,VHF and UHF gear
that is APCO 25 compliant.... This also includes access to wireless data...

* Knox County is to constructing new towers, replacing older existing repeaters, etc. and
adding 4 additional UHF repeaters; upgrading the current console to allow interoperability... it looks like they plan to remain analog for the time being...

Keep us posted unitcharlie :) appreciate all of the fine info btw.
Brian Reams head of hazmat are 11 talks on UHF here in laurel county but it seems like its sooo low power.

Any plans for possible trunk in the area.
I sure hope most of the public safety groups go digital in the clear and dont encrypt their communications

PM me or something if u hear anything on clay county ? Like new freqs and all

No problem Shawn.... I'd bet the HAZMAT radios are low power because they are designed to work with the command vehicle.... if you get the chance some day could you pass along the active and inactive freqs in your area.... there are some I know can't be in use based upon new FCC grants but don't get your way long enough during the day to monitor... updated tones would be primo as well.... I haven't seen any pplans for a trunked system in the area... probably becauise the terrain would make it difficult for general use over a wide area....

No. 16960 could possibly be a towing company. There's been a lot of unidentified talkgroups on this system. I plan on driving around today, and hopefully I can ID some of these.

That would be awesome... If you come across any new TGIDs post them here and maybe others will program this one into their radios... I will put it back into one of my radios and see if I can snag anything new overnight (last time there wasn't much activity at all!)...
