Sitting here at work, I hear transmissions (with a lot of static, so it can't be too close) come across a couple of frequencies on my IC-U82. they are as follows:
453.3350 and 453.0500 with NO pl/dpl tones
I have checked the Logan County database, Public Safety and Palco systems included. I ran a FCC GenMen check for the frequencies in KY, and came up with nothing on either that should be close enough. It might just be skip I'm hearing, but traffic nonetheless. It sounded like it was law enforcement related. Can anyone help with locating who uses these channels??

SOLVED

Look a little farther south to Montgomery and Robertson Counties in Tennessee.
TN Homeland Security District 7 LTR Passport system
453.3375 is the home repeater for Clarksville site
453.0500 is the home repeater for Springfield site

You'll hear LE, FD, and EMS on these.

KY TOFC Delivery - Paducah - Long Time Mystery For Me

Does anyone know if KY TOFC Delivery in Paducah utilizes anything other than CB radio?

I've been trying to identify anything with these guys for several years.

Any info would be appreciated.

Another mystery

I was in the area of the airport yesterday and heard a digital / scrambled freq come up of 170.750. Anyone have any guesses? Obviously we can't monitor but I was just curious who it was. TSA / CBP / Big Brother???

Steve, that used to be the channel that Mercy Ambulance used in Jefferson County. They are a primary chuck service...aka take granny to the doctor, used to have the coroners contract, not sure if they still do or if Yellow took that over as well.

my 2 cents worth.

That is a common freq for the US Marshals Service. They often use it for Federal Courthouse Security. So if there is a federal courthouse in your local area, this is most likely going to be it. Good luck.

Airport think TSA, check out the MT-Fed blog for a listing of some that are active in other areas of the Country.

I believe the Courthouse is UHF 406 MHz. Just have not had time to check, nor do I care to hang out in that area of downtown.

I think they may have moved to an LTR system, as there is an active Amb Service there, but have not had the time or inclination to run it down as to what service.

170.750 is not a TSA freq. They use nearly the same system nationwide. Reference the wiki here.

Fine whatever.... The Courthouse and the Airport are a few miles apart.
UHF is in use for Security in several other Federal Buildings, don't know about the Courthouse yet. But I'll probably get there soon.

US Marshals in Louisville was 163.xxx MHz, but don't know since narrow banding order, but the last time I saw a radio on TV, it was still old Motorola radios.

I give up, everybody is an expert on here. And no other possibilities except what they think can exist. I'll just keep stuff to myself, and if somebody has posted something, listen myself to verify it if I can... My search key works quite well, and I do post stuff here and on the database, but I really think it's becoming a waste of my time. Too many experts who know more than anybody else on here lately.

Al, I thought I heard Rural Metro on 461.600 the other day which I think is LTR. They switched from 155.160 to that when they moved out of Jeffersontown. Not sure why though. The only reason I thought it was RM was they like to use the term control for base.

They have moved to an LTR (I think) in Lexington as well, just haven't had the gumption to track it down..... 155.160 is really quiet now.

Doug, did you happen to see a non-descript 727 near you when you heard the talk on 170.750? Con-Air flies all over the country and, when they talk, they use the Federal Marshal's freqs....

Actually the Marshals use two very common freqs for normal ops. Channels 1 & 2 (repeater & talkaround) are 163.200 and 3 & 4 are 164.600, so you are correct in this. But realize that these are pretty much nationwide assignments and that as such, they are easily recognizeable. They also use a few others nationwide, which includes 170.750.

No need for you to get mad, my friend. I was only trying to help you. That's what the forums are for -- so everyone can share what they know. Nobody's claiming to be an expert but there is such a thing as common knowledge. If that knowledge wasn't ever shared, it wouldn't be common. Please realize I was only trying to help. Maybe I should be more tactful in giving information. Sorry.

The one I've heard is posted in the Database, but I have not ID'ed the service, but there could be another one as well. It is on the J-town location LTR system. It may have both, I may have heard another, but will have to check my notes, but then somebody will jump in and correct me... so it will be a long time coming I'm in no hurry to check my notes or anything else on RR.

Question...I noticed that there is a dec number in front of the ambulance listing under the J-Town LTR. Is that something that can be tracked with the 96? I have never messed with anytype of LTR system and wasn't sure
