It's done on purpose. The Sys Admins probably didn't want that information to go out. But people don't know how to keep information secret, I'm sure they'll be figured out by the end of the year.

Hello!

Just curious if the Brevard Viper Site as been switched over or is going to be switched over to 700 Mhz. frequencies, or is this one of those type deals like Charlotte, Gaston and Pores Knob where their is a combination of 700 Mhz. and 800 Mhz. frequencies combined.

The associated call sign for the 700 Mhz. frequencies is WRCQ-242

Just asking

Thanks

David

Lots of VIPER Statewide Events TGs being used around the state for storm damage recovery. See post below for more information.

Good morning everyone! I just tried to import NCSHP from RR to SDRtrunk and looking at it, there are now only 8 TGs showing and before there was closer to 88. It looks like the RRDB still shows all the TGs but only 8 are showing available for import to SDRT. Is the an SDRT thing or is the NCSHP going to just 8 TGs now?

Thanks for this. I was just about to ask. I live in the eastern part of NC, but with Viper I am hearing all of the stuff in the western part of the state. Any other info appreciated.

May be some depts leaving viper over the high cost
The high cost? VIPER gave 5 years notice for people to prepare. The purpose of so much time was so the costs could be broken down over several years.

Waiting until the last 365 days to even begin the process of finding the money isn't VIPER's problem.

There are even grants given out that tons of departments have used to uprgrade. Having a bad grant writer isn't VIPER's problem.

Switching gears here.

I was just curious if any one had any information on how many Viper Sites went wiped out with the flooding in Western NC.

Please post a listing here

Thanks

From rumors I heard, all VIPER sites stayed online. They have many running on generator (which is to be expected given the widespread power outages)

I talked with a firefighter in the Hickory area, he said the system had a lot of 'busys' in his area.
I just look at that as ammunition to go towards TDMA.
2-for-1 --- Double your site capacity
