Missing Raleigh Police Dispatch
I'm at wit's end. I just happened to notice the only RPD dispatches I'm getting are 47050, 47051,47053.
NOTHING from 47052, 47054, or 47055.
These are the only ones I've checked out. There may be other TGs missing.
Using Site 2 freqs, & re-verified freqs.

Any suggestions/help?

First check your programming, it seems strange that be getting three and not getting the others as they are all on all towers on the simulcast system. That said 47055 is often patched to 47050, 47052 is patched to 47051, and 47054 is patched to 47053, so it may have something to do with patches not being received.

I checked programming as best I could. Everything appears fine. I even loaded some older data, and no change. It has got to be 'patches'.
I mayb d/l the file from RR and play with that.
Thanks, RaleighGuy!

What scanner are you using? Can we maybe help and edit a file for you?
Both scanners - BCD325P & BCD996P giving same result.
I did a fresh d/l of the Cary/Wake P25 system, using only Site 2 freqs, deleting everything except TGs 47050~47055.
On another scanner, I uploaded pretty much the entire Cary/Wake system, but instead of SCAN, I put it to SEARCH.
On both, on RPD TGs coming up were 47050, 47051, & 47053

I've attached the txt file of just the Raleigh PD dispatch TGs only.
Thank you.

They do when they are in use, but when patched the traffic comes out on the other TG.
47050 (NW/SW)
47051 (NO/NE)
47053 (SE/DT)
So, NOT seeing the other 3 TGs is 'normal', because they're 'patched' to the TGs I AM seeing?
(I wish I knew what this 'patching' was, who does it, & why it's done!)

It appears I need to 're-label' my TG's as 47050 (NW/SW), 47051 (NO/NE), & 47053 (SE/DT)

Thanks, RaleighGuy!

The dispatch console does it usually due to limited staffing in dispatch, it is very common on the Viper SHP TGs as well.
Read this thread...

But if/when they do end the patch the others will be active.

I'll give that a read, thanks!
In the meantime, I'll keep 47052, 47054, & 47055 'on-line' and when they 'un-patch', I'll get those xmits.
Again, Thanks!

It is both, the system is complete, basically, however they are slowly moving agencies over and testing to ensure there are no unanticipated issues with the system. Currently four bus agencies and Wake GSA are on the new P25 system, as identified in the database, and still patched to the old Type II system in case there are issues. Once more agencies get added look for frequencies on the system are added to handle capacity.
Is wake county sherffic encrypted on new p25 site or in the clear

I may have just missed it somewhere in the previous discussion, but does anyone know whether ALL traffic is carried on both sides of the system (in other words, on both the Cary site and the Raleigh site)? Right now I'm monitoring both sites/NACs, but if all traffic is carried on both I could just choose the closest and monitor that one. I'm not just not sure that all traffic is always on both.

They are two separate systems. That's not possible.

As @jthorpe said, though they use the same core they are two separately operated systems, Cary is Site One, Wake Co is Site Two. In order to hear the traffic you must enter each as their own system.

Thanks to both of you! I've deleted the system and created two new systems, one with each site, and I can confirm definitely they aren't carrying the same traffic so that matches what you're telling me. I'm guessing if it's in as just one system the scanner will latch onto whichever system it sees a control channel for first, and the other one basically won't get monitored, but if they're separate systems it of course tracks both control channels.

After some time working on other projects, I finally got back to playing with the scanner!

I picked up an RTL-SDR V3 and loaded boatmod's op25 fork in a new virtual machine, and while I'm still fine-tuning the various parameters, I'm getting great audio and trunking performance. (This may be common knowledge, but I have best results passing through the whole USB controller PCI device in to the VM, instead of doing USB passthrough of just the stick. I think these SDR use cases really need low latency USB transfers.)

I've had an older SDR for ADS-B data for some time, but it's amazing to see this technique perform so well with P25 simulcast. Once it's really dialed in, next up is optimizing my talkgroup priorities and getting automatic recording to audio files set up..

I'm keeping the old GRE on the NC VIPER system, and will dedicate the SDR to Wake P25. Splitting my Yagi feed to both, which I'm happy to say has remained well-aimed since I set it up.
