TG 46843 on the new Wake P25 system today is being used to simulcast VIPER Foxtrot 1, Internal State Fair Law Enforcement. This TG on the Wake P25 used to be broadcasting RFD/Wake FD Alert tones
Should I still keep my Wake County Mot Type II Smartzone system? Or can I just go by what is listed at the page above?Recently the Carolina 440 Net website updated it's website to include information on the new Wake P25 system. While some information seems to be valid (though not not confirmed through monitoring) other information does not appear to be correct. They say the new system should be active October 27th, which I think is going to be difficult, though possible. A couple of things to be careful of includes:
1. The TGs for the system appear to be converted utilizing the conversion tool for Type II to P25, this is not what Wake is doing, they will be creating new TGs between 46800 and 47499, with a possible federal TG on 60506.
2. The CAM BU TGs are listed in the 47305-47315 range, to date (after a year of monitoring on Unitrunker 2) I have not seen 47309-47315 being used. Again, it might be too early and I'm not saying it is incorrect.
3. The Wake system is Site 002, where the Carolina 440 page says it will be site 003. Again, it might be too early and I'm not saying it is incorrect.
There also appears to be a number of changes in the works on the fire side for Cary.

OkKeep the Type II until the switch is complete, it may be awhile before it is fully completed.
I already put 853.9250 in as a CC. Are 853.9825, 853.4825, and 853.1500 also CC's?Lots of testing and additional units on the system this morning, control channel now 853.925, two more channels added to the system for a total of 10. Looks like Wake Tech Community College is testing on TG 47125, noticing a lot of WSO {possibly jail) RIDs also. LE East (TG 47220) has been silent for a couple of days now.

Do you have an updated list of TGs from what you have been hearing?sNot 853.9825, but 853.9625, and yes all are important as the control channels today switched. Also no longer hearing RPD on the old system, they are on the new systems
I made a numerical error there. I meant 853.9625.Not 853.9825, but 853.9625, and yes all are important as the control channels today switched. Also no longer hearing RPD on the old system, they are on the new systems
@N1GAW have you found any more TGs since yesterday? I've heard a lot of chatter from TGs that arent listed but not enough to make out what they were saying. I also don't know all the RID's like you do either to pinpoint where they would have come from.
NCSUPDTG2 is 47111
I just heard an announcement made on one of the alert dispatch channels that it is time to switch to the new zones. Didn’t catch up it was Raleigh fire wake fire or EMS
edit they said again it was Raleigh fire that switched. I’m also no longer hearing VHF dispatch either
Hopefully I am in the correct forum, seems like you are the guy that knows what he is doing,,, So question scanners not picking up RPD for me should I just wait for updates on the radioreference program software to add? i have attempted numerous timesYes Raleigh FD, Garner FD, EMS, ALERTS and others have made the switch this morning. I am just getting on the computer, my UT2 isn't working good, no audio, my DSD+ is working. Unfortunately I'm having a lot of issues with simulcast (unlike with the old system) so using scanner isn't as effective.
Will post more updates tonight.
