I believe 2yrs into bring the BCDxxxP2 to fruition, they as in Uniden (not Voyager) hastily switched to the BCDx36HP series and 9 months later we (as a community) received an inferior product (not ready for Prime time.

I appreciate your thought about elevating me to the rank of Uniden's rep and PR guy (in fact, I majored in PR in college). In terms of whining, well I like to make observations, recommendations, and offer constructive criticism when I can.

I do own the 436 and the 536 (both with the Provoice) upgrade, and I am VERY happy with both units. This thread goes back several months, to a time when we were at one of the many crossroads in x36 development.

I expect to continue my contributions here in the forums, but of course if Uniden decides to opt-in on your suggestion to hire me as one of their own, my tone and tenor might have to change, just a bit.

While I might agree that was true in the past to some degree (and much less in recent times), he is far from the biggest whiner on RR. There are some true haters who post complaints just to complain, and then complain about the people who point that out (and call them names).

Nothing wrong with complaining about false advertisement. Uniden has yet to deliver what was advertised. Disclaimers or not. They have yet to fully come out and say they cannot do what they promised. They have had plenty of time to do so. There is no excuse for false advertising and failing to deliver the analyze features. Some honesty on their part would end a lot of frustration.

The boards are not free. There may be budget issues preventing them from doing certain things. I can't state this for a fact, but it makes perfect sense. There is only so much pie (budget) to go around. You cannot spend the same money in more than one place unless you're Bernie Madoff.

BTW, I agree with them fixing the major issues before the minor ones. Many people forget that they ARE fixing the issues. This is a forest/tree thing.

No. Not a forest / tree thing. They obviously have people working on other firmware issues. Getting your product to perform as advertised ought to be a priority. It was promised to be out well over a year and a half ago. Again, it would be nice to hear from someone who actually knows what its going on. Uniden looks very bad, letting people who don't know, make their excuses for them.

Deceptive and false advertising, is unacceptable.

Nope. That's fixing their defects.

Getting the firmware out, so your product is as advertised is also a priority. Especially, since we are probably approaching the halfway point in its life. The roadmap was reported to going into 2016. we appear to be at the end of the road.

There is more to it than the analyze features. They still have not brought the wi-fi up to advertised features.

I don't care about the excuses. It has Unidens name on it. They are responsible for it. They made the clams and advertising about features they have yet to produce. They bear the ultimate responsibility for it.

Deceptive and false advertising is unacceptable.

I happen to LOVE my Uniden scanners but I do wish they would finally come out with the Android app. It would be a very useful feature for me and much appreciated. I wouldn't trade my scanners for Whistlers or anything else and I am NOT whining. Just hope they follow through before releasing a brand new line and making me feel like I didn't get maximum use of my scanners I paid for. I don't want to see ads for new Uniden scanners WITH the Android app functioning. That would suck!!!

K3fs would you be so kind as to show me the dates of said releases Uniden said they would release. The ads said coming in the future with no date listed.

We are now talking years since release of the radio. Date or no date, it is too long in the electronics world.

The forest/tree issue is that some people can't see they are fixing the major issues first. If you don't have that, great. Glad to hear it. I too am glad they are fixing things.

Nope. That's fixing their defects.

Defects / issues / things. Isn't that really just semantics?

But, your original statement was "Getting your product to perform as advertised ought to be a priority". Are you really saying that you don't think the LED/RTC fixes qualify under "perform as advertised"? I think there will be many RR users who disagree, and think those are the higher priority issues.

What's the saying? You can't please everyone all the time. And as I pointed out, you can't spend the same dollar twice.
