All talkgroups from the "groups" file in DSD+ (last updated at 2:38 this afternoon):

I'm too far to hear if there's any talking on the system or not.
I'm to far to even pick it up. I might take a trip tomorrow and see what i find in an hour

Still testing, PD was patched over for a brief time. AES encryption tested on several groups.

With how everything and everyone else is going enc, I'm not surprised if the PD goes enc as well. Not very much agencies will stay in the clear for us to hear.

If you're too far to hear the system, then why are you submitting TG information?

I can pick up the system on my feed computer, but can't hear them from where I normally sit in my house. I enabled the option in DSD+ to tag talkgroups that are TDMA and that's how I knew 100 was.

Simulcast done testing and shut off again. I am confident that group will be the PD and have guesses for many of the others.

Which radio vendor got the contract?

Oldtimeradio here, Looks like Utility Communications is the contractor for both new Motorola Systems. out of Hamden, Ct.
They installed the BOE DMR equipment and reading the bid the town wanted the same Motorola contractor to Engineer/Install both systems.
NECS (New England Communications Systems) was the Motorola Dealer that used take care of the system. I used to be a technician for them 2002 thru 2004. This was before Marcus took the service over and converted it to LMR.

The PD has been patched over from the UHF on and off for the last month or so. A couple of 7/800 radios (164xxxx) in use but mostly patched.
EMS is supposed to go live on Monday and the LTR TRS start to shut down.

Some testing today, sounds like acceptance/coverage testing. EMS still on LTR. PD still patched.

The new police station is awesome. State of the art facility. The Sgt that was my tourguide only knew they were simulcating on both systems as we new already. I think they are programming the radios and giving them out. I saw the new radios on some desks but I didnt dare try to get too close. Their dispatch center is gigantic. Room for 4 positions. They usually only use two during the day. it was very interesting. oh ps the transmitter site is just adjacent to the building. they just added the new system to the tower that was already there.

3 sites for the system. 1 at the new PD/DPW, 1 at Wilson FD by I-91 & I-291, and 1 at the Poquonock Station 2 near the East Granby town line. Probably decent coverage, the testing seemed like it was successful.

Is the PD full-time active in the system or fire Ems?
Myself I have only heard the PD TG 100 its full-time but still simulcast with the old system. Others have heard the ambulance. Havent caught any fire yet. If I do I will report back.

Police is still patched with UHF as of now. FD was patched last week with UHF on 200. Analog rebroadcasted on digital sounds so horrible on a scanner!!! Heard radio techs last week talking on 250 asking "Are you on EMS?" and then general chatter after that. Not sure if EMS is actually using it yet. I work a short distance down the road in Bloomfield off of Cottage Grove, so I'll keep monitoring today and see what I hear.

Anyone know if they will keep a simulcast of either the FD or EMS on UHF once everything is complete?
