There was some really strong ducting last night, had some time to kill in the car last night and started flipping around the radio, was getting Rockford and Milwaukee stations better than Chicago ones sitting in Carol Stream. According to the forecast, decent conditions again tonight from northern Illinois up into Wisconsin. Wish I would've gotten the chance to play around with the TV antenna to see what I could get.
I've never really seen ducting affect 700/800 though. Usually you only hear about it affecting VHF and UHF.

You mean Marengo IL? We used to play them in High School Sports. I enjoyed beating their team in Golf even though one guy got a hole in one vs us in 1975. Glad to hear that. Trouble with McHenry Co is it's totally encrypted. Sheriff and everything including dog catchers and emergency weather announcements. There is a lot of analog stuff I'm still hearing from Crystal Lake and analog Fire from various towns like Lake in the Hills and others.

Sure thing. I never saw this post back then. Thanks for the update on Marengo. I heard them a few days ago while in Elgin IL. Bill88 just asked about them and I directed him to this forum post. They're on Starcom21 talkgroup 3451 Bill88 if you see this post.

Union police now being dispatched on 3451. I think we are still waiting on Woodstock and Harvard to join in and I could see McHenry using 3452 as a dispatch channel testing done today. Alot of opened traffic at the Lake County fair grounds. I guess Lake county law isn't anal with the TDMA sound, which by the way sounds great on my BCD996p2 scanner.

I believe Woodstock may still be waiting on their new radios to arrive. They only got the funding released to buy them 1 or 2 months ago.

Your absolutely correct both Harvard and Woodstock are waiting for radios. Just made a statement still waiting on the two mentioned cities that we are waiting to operate on Starcom. Thanks for the update I assumed that waiting on the radio was the issue. Listening to these towns with all the secured stuff by me. Ironically McHenry fire is secured but one does hear the dispatches on 3451 and testing on 3452 assuming that 3452 is going to be a dispatch 2 for NERCOMM.

Did you happen to note the RIDs of the units that were active on this TG? That might help to determine who the user is. This TG is above the range posted for Lake County, but below the new 338xx TGs issued to IDOT District 1.

I ran a discovery on my HP 2 for about 15 hours and this is what i logged on site 134 Ottawa IL . Im not sure why some names appear in the log and some don't or some have audio and some don't? I do have it logging all and checking against the RR database. Most of the New Found sounded like a utility company. New Found TG 30331 was the Monroe county health department doing a radio drill i think they are in Indiana from doing a google search.
I don't get why some TG are known but there isn't a name with them? Like TG i have highlighted 13007 might be ISP D6 calling out as Pontaic X-68, X-k91 and M-23 and dispatch giving patrol assignments with 1370 hits but i dont see that in the RR database but it says its known?

Yeah i forgot about the consolidation. Is Streator PD pretty active? I only got 10 hits off the Ottawa tower that seems low for a police department.
