There's a tower in Streator (T142) so you'll only get hits on the Ottawa tower if a unit affiliates with it. It's not a huge department but there's traffic.

Do you think i can hit the Streator tower from South ottawa using this antenna portable slim jim antenna
As long as you're not down in the river valley you should have a shot. The current CC is 774.79375

Streator PD Is active at times. When dispatched out of Streator they used to send calls by computer. Since going to LivCom you can here more of what is going on in town.
i only seem to pick up the ottawa tower, haven't had luck hitting the streator tower yet

EDIT: Nevermind... they were Phase II for an hour or so... now back to Phase I. Sorry.
Just noticed that Schaumburg FD dispatch (TG 2753 on NWCD site 149) is Phase II today. They were Phase I up until yesterday. Schaumburg Fireground (TG 2766) has been Phase II all along.

Heard TG1891 on Tower-102 So.CH HTS =Barrington-Countryside FD CH2 today for the first time this far south....
Picked up a few new TG on the Streator IL Site
TG 5777- sounds like police running a license plate his call sign was Sam 99
Also New Found was TG 4001-- IEMA 11-3 talking to Springfield

4001 - 4016 are all IEMA talkgroups. 4001 is the "main" IEMA talkgroup where they keep in contact with IEMA Springfield (RIDs 415x28)
These talkgroups are carried statewide I think. I can hear them routinely up hear as well. 73, n9zas
5777= Livingston Co-North, if you see 5776=Livcom south, 5780=FD, i hear them very well on T-125-Grundy Co....
Getting a lot of hits from TG 3877, 3886, and 3887 tonight on 149. All in the clear. Don't have a P2 radio so can't confirm, but RIDs belong to Northbrook PD according to the wiki. TG 3877 appears to be a patch to something, with a Glenview dispatch RID.

TG 3886 TDMA police dispatches within Northbrook city limits tonight. Towers 149 as well as 115. In process of dedicating a bank to the Northbrook PD IDs which are in the Starcom 21 Wiki. pages. 3686 which is believed to be Glenveiw PD last and first transmission they were secured. NORCOMM dispatches Northbrook if I remember correctly. Now maybe NWCD will have word of these non-secured transmission and follow pursuit of non-secured police dispatch within their area.

Just to pass on for the TDMA format leave the digital AGC off as when I had this function on the transmissions were very choppy. Also as far as simulcast distortion as mentioned before my location to both towers 149 and 115 I am on the out skirts of both not in the center which my understanding is hobbyist that are centrally located with this problem. I also experimented with centrally location and yes it sucked.

OK, added TG 3886 to the Radio Refeerence SC21database as Northbrook PD Dispatch. Since we don't know what the other talkgroups are used for yet, I've added them to the SC21 Wiki unidentified talkgroups page IL-STARCOM21-Talkgroups - The RadioReference Wiki . I've been running Pro96Com on T149 for a few days now and have noted 116xxx RIDs affiliating with all talkgroups between 3887 and 3895, so keep your ears open. IMHO, hard to believe that all nine of these talkgroups would all be used by Northbrook PD alone, perhaps other NORCOMM agencies will switch to SC21 as well?
