Military SINCGARS radios use 8 to 15 kHz deviation which is wider than the FM setting, which is 5 kHz deviation, on most scanners.
You will probably receive it best when set to FM and not NFM and the audio may be distorted on voice peaks or drop out of the receiver passband and close the squelch on voice peaks.

Everything else on low band in the US should be FM (5 kHz deviation).

I am always interested finding more to more listen to than just P25 trunked PS freqs and would like to start to monitor lowband. I didn't realize it was still being used that much.
I have been looking through the logs here and noticed that they list PL tones along with the target freq. What set up is used to monitor this band (scanner, antenna, SW, etc)

OK this is all good and all--But is there anyway to list what these freqs are for or to who ??? like kkn50 does All I Keep Seeing is Numbers with No explination (Not an Interesting Read)

Like 45.88 there is many 200 Public Safety using this Freq across the country / 33.800 is also a Public Safety frequency / 44.100 is Commercial--(at&t--ups--the national astronomy observatory--and 4 more private)

I heard military type traffic on all the frequencies I listed. Some were ranges (unk location), some were helo’s, some were obvious military medical helos, some were humvee convoys, others were training exercises like looking for ied’s. ALL the frequencies I listed did have a pl tone of 151.4. I did not just happen upon them in search mode. They are specific frequencies I have monitored or others have monitored over the years that contained military traffic. I am not interested in business comms and I did not list any frequencies that had business type traffic on them.
