Hi UPMan this link seems to be n/g or is the campaign over..my scanner just started doing this.. JG
As Doc noted, UPMan is unavailable for now.

I would suggest that you contact UnidenSupport, either by sending him a message, or using the phone number noted in this post.

I would also suggest including your serial number along with your inquiry.

How long from when you sent it in, did you get it back? Mine is about a month for the estimated return date. I needed to wait until airshow season was over. ;)
The "default" return is set at one month. Actual return time could be longer, or shorter, depending on how many other units are in for repair (the 'other' items might include other Uniden products, such as marine radios, CB, and FRS, in addition to scanners). Also, the return time could be extended if the part(s) needed are not in stock, and have to be sent to the repair shop. If I recall, the turn around time on my two units (a 436HP & a 536HP) was less than two weeks, but I'm close to the repair site.

I had the repair done and got the radio back in a week and a half. Working great. Thank you Uniden. OK have a Issue?!? I noticed that my NXDN don't decode and went in to type in my KEY again and will not take. Verified my SN is the same and it is. But the check sum number has changed. Do I need to buy another key or what? Anyone have or had the same issue? Thanks

Send a PM to @UnidenSupport to get that resolved. You shouldn't have to buy a new key.

Just sent my 436 in last week...
I'll have to look at that when it comes back and see if they did it on mine too...

For the 436HP, the clock & display repair involves changing out the circuit board. They are supposed to reflash the replacement board with the same ESN as the original, so that the most you need to do is re-enter the upgrade key(s). (For the 536HP, neither the clock nor dim display repair involves replacing the circuit board, so your keys should be unaffected.)

Jon's suggestion to shabec, to contact member @UnidenSupport, is the best way to get this resolved. Since the check sum on the returned unit is different, it appears that perhaps a typo was present when the replacement was flashed.

Thanks Steve...
I'm aware of the whole (Logic) control board being relpaced... Which is the front board with the display....
No keys in my 436... Just my SDS100...
Just curious to see if they do it to my 436 too.

Update after receiving scanner back (436), Display much brighter and RTC holds the time.
ESN is same as before... Including the checksum...

My 536, purchased in March of 2018 with a date code of 2017, now exhibits what I believe to be the RTC problem. I can keep the scanner powered up and recharging the battery for over 24 hours and the time setting holds so long as I power it up the next day. But if it is shut down for a day or more, the time setting is lost again. Does this describe the RTC problem as owners have experienced? I would have thought this issue would have been resolved by 2017.

If the RTC is working correctly... It should hold the time for about a month when powered down...
Send it in... They will repair it...
I don't think they ever really pinned it down to a specific serial number run or year...
although you would think one from 2017 would have no problems...

That was my thinking also, and so the reason behind my post. I could even live without the clock (I have a watch that tells time :)). If there was some hack to disable the prompt to set the clock, I'd be good with that.

You only need the clock if your going to use the recording feature...
The thing uniden did before the campaign came along was make a firmware update that would let you bypass the clock setting
when turning on the radio... Other wise the radio would not start up untill the time and date were set...
That was quite aways back on firmware updates... Like back in the 2015 time frame...
Your radio should have that...

My 536 has the most recent firmware update and will allow me to bypass the clock setting. It's just a pain every time I turn the scanner on. Of course, I suppose I can just never turn the scanner off, but that doesn't seem like a good workaround. Anyway, I can't say I'll never use the recording function.

Yeah it was agrivating to me too...
My 436 just came back from getting repaired...
But If I remember it gives you the option to hit the E to set time and date...
Hit the . to bypass instantly or just wait 10 seconds for it to go around the setting...
