And all that does is to make an already time consuming start-up even longer. But If I remember it gives you the option to hit the E to set time and date...
Hit the . to bypass instantly or just wait 10 seconds for it to go around the setting...

Not knowing what a defective display looks like, I can't say mine has any problem. Although not quite as bright as my 996, it seems bright enough for me.Most of the units with bad clocks had display issues as well.
Curiously, when did you buy your 536?Just sent my 536 into repair for both the clock issue and the dim display.
From date sent until return was just under two weeks with both items repaired.
Since the battery is certainly a problem, I'll send it in for repair. If Uniden feels the display is too dim, they're welcome to fix that too.
Anyone else have issues with your email 'not being found' by Uniden.
Has there been a recent change where you'd have to resubscribe? Yes, my email was typed in correct (5 times), yes, I tried any alternate emails I have.
I have a BCD436HP that I registered years ago for repair, but I never shipped it in due to personal reasons. Do I have to re-register it, or can I use the old shipping label from years ago or how do I go about getting this RTC fixed since it was registered already?
How do you go about doing that when I can't seen that profile it seem like.I would reach out to @UnidenSupport for advice.
