But If I remember it gives you the option to hit the E to set time and date...
Hit the . to bypass instantly or just wait 10 seconds for it to go around the setting...
And all that does is to make an already time consuming start-up even longer. :(

Yep... Would have been nice to just have a menu setting to just turn it off completely

It was only intended as a workaround to avoid hanging the scanner until it could be sent in and fixed.

Yes... I know it was a patch till you send it in...
But there are people who don't use the recording function and could care less about the clock...
Would of been nice to just be able shut the clock off in a menu setting if you so desire...

Most of the units with bad clocks had display issues as well.

The backlight fades out over time. Some units dimmed a lot more than others.

Since the battery is certainly a problem, I'll send it in for repair. If Uniden feels the display is too dim, they're welcome to fix that too.

Just sent my 536 into repair for both the clock issue and the dim display.
From date sent until return was just under two weeks with both items repaired.

I bought mine July 27th 2014....
Use the link in the first post...
They pay shipping both ways... Can't argue with that...

I guess i'm going to send mine in, since work is finally slowing down (assuming something outside california doesnt catch fire)

Been dealing with the clock issue for about a year, but the display dimming is what finally bugged me enough to decide to do it.

Anyone else have issues with your email 'not being found' by Uniden.

Has there been a recent change where you'd have to resubscribe? Yes, my email was typed in correct (5 times), yes, I tried any alternate emails I have.

Ummm... not sure, but I just had the same issue, and realized that it was now case-sensitive.... so maybe try making sure your email/username is EXACTLY how you registered it.

I have a BCD436HP that I registered years ago for repair, but I never shipped it in due to personal reasons. Do I have to re-register it, or can I use the old shipping label from years ago or how do I go about getting this RTC fixed since it was registered already?

I would reach out to @UnidenSupport for advice.
