I'm confused the add says it'll do MOTO TURBO TDMA. So will it decode MOTOROLA TDMA transmissions or not?

From the description in the first post of this thread:

TrunkTracker V with support for APCO Project 25 Phase I and Phase II, X2-TDMA, Motorola, EDACS, and LTR Trunked Radio Systems

It will do APCO P25 Phase II, which includes Motorola ASTRO 25, X2-TDMA, but not MOTO TRBO TDMA.

FYI, if you get the "Unable to connect to the remote server" error that I got, suspect your firewall. For reasons unclear to me, an up-to-date version of Norton Internet Security silently created a new rule for for x36 Sentinel blocking its internet access. Thanks to fxdscon and KD7EIR, whose PMs confirmed that they were running the two Sentinels together, so that wasn't the problem. That prompted me to install it on another PC here, and it worked fine, which led me to take fxdscon's suggestion to check this PC's firewall rules.

Lo and behold, NIS had automagically decided x36 Sentinel was malware and blocked it. Changing Block to Allow fixed the problem. Thanks again, folks.

Any firm release dates yet, I believe the 536 was to be first and the 436 after, is this still the case? Trying to plan a vacation around the release. Don't mean to be a pest, just looking for some new toys.

Yep, the handheld is coming a couple weeks after the base starts shipping. I preordered mine from Scanner Master and opted for the free ground shipping so I'll have some advance warning of when it's coming - Scanner Master will send me an email when my radio ships. I am fortunate enough to work for a boss who doesn't mind the occasional work from home day, so all I need to do is see what day it's supposed to arrive and then schedule a work at home day accordingly. Not that much work will get done that day but still.... ;)

Awesome News. Does that mean Uniden is shipping these units to the dealers, or will the dealers be-able to start shipping these units to us as customers the first week of January??

That's what's I'm interested in. I also ordered the 536 from SM. I'll also have the funds put aside for the 436 by then so this works out perfect.

I could be mistaken, but I seem to recall from another thread that Uniden ships to distributors and the distributors ships to dealers. So if Uniden is shipping them, that means they are going to the distributors at that time. From there they go to the dealers and then they ship from the dealer to us. Based on this (and the fact that I opted for ground shipping from Boston... in the WINTER...), I honestly don't expect to receive my scanner until the end of January or so.

Who else besides Scanner Master is allowing a "Pre-Order" for the 536/436 ?

I see that Scanner Master clearly states that they will charge your credit card right away. They don't wait until they ship the unit.

At this time of the year, I'd rather not have that cash lost as I could use it for X-Mas shopping.

Universal Radio supposedly doesn't bill until it ships.
