For those of you who live in Cleveland, have any of you heard of information regarding a potential new trunked system for Cleveland State University?
A new FCC license was issued recently... WQKM910.
ULS Application - Industrial/Business Pool, Trunked - 0003694602 - CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY
This license is a 400 Mhz trunked license, FB6. It's probably LTR, but I suppose it could be something else.
PUBLIC UNIVERSITY USING RADIOS TO COORDINATE ON-CAMPUS SECURITY, ADMINISTRATIVE AND MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS.
Listed frequencies on the license are:
461.5375
461.7625
461.9375
462.0625
462.0875
463.2625
463.7625
If anyone gets bored, you might want to scan around and see if you hear anything on those frequencies that may sound like a trunked system (again, probably LTR).
Since LTR systems don't have a control channel, the only way you'd ever confirm if this went online was to hear some traffic on those frequencies and your scanner (or a trunking program) may display relevant LCN and talkgroup info.
So, if you're in the area, please check out those frequencies once in a while. If you get any concrete information on this system, please post it here.
As with a lot of trunked systems, this one may not ever become active. But it would just be a small system for the school, so there is no reason to believe that it wouldn't eventually come online.
Mike
