It was working fine yo until about a week ago. I’m in Vernon and had no trouble hearing C, H, DEEP. Then all of a sudden nothing. Can’t figure it out.
I'm glad that there's someone else on here from Tolland county reporting in! I listen to Troop C daily and they have been quite active

I have noticed that the SDS database doesn't seem to be updating. I see that in the RR database there are many identified talk groups that show up as unknown on the scanner. How often does the sds get updates. Before anyone asks, yes I have gone to the app and told it to update its listings.

The State Police joined the Phase 2 system months ago. That doesn’t explain the problem within the last week.

What does Sentinel show as the date for the DB? I just ran the update and now have 8/2/2020.

From what I can see here you have been going over to a phase 2 system for a while. It would appear to be a slow transition. Some western parts of the state appears to have switched over in the last few weeks. A new database update comes out every Monday.

I'm sure that technicians are working on it everyday to improve dead spots and to tweak the systems. It's fun to follow that on the radio Tech Channel but it would appear to be that your radio techs are on an encrypted talk group.

Municipal talkgroups have been Phase 2 since Stonington started using it in 2019. In the last few weeks, the majority of the users left on Phase 1 were switched to Phase 2 7/15. If you go back in this thread to that date and read forward, you can catch up on what has happened and some suggestions to help overcome issues.

Are the two new Bloomfield sites part of the Troop H simulcast or are they standalone sites? Looking at the license, they share the same frequencies as the Troop H simulcast minus the 700 frequencies

Part of the Troop H Simulcast, couldn't run the same frequencies 3 miles from another site. The 700 license is a Statewide license.

And remember that just because the average home scanner listener has "dead spots" doesn't mean that the officers do. They're using radios 100x better than consumer grade scanners, with 700/800 "cut" antennas, that have better reception (overall SNR) than the average home listener does.

Like Others, I am using an SDS100 which was working great as far as picking up CT State Police (mainly D,E,F,G, but often other Troops), using a Remtronix 800 antenna (home and Mobile). With the recent switch to TDMA, now deaf for these transmissions. Conventional, DMR and New London/Waterford P25 working fine. Anyone in the SE part of the State (Lymes, Waterford, NL) that can shed some light on how I might adjust settings? As far as equipment, have tried the Shure antenna as mentioned in the Thread - no Joy. Thanks in advance.
