They are replacing infrastructure and subscribers, as well as deploying AES-256 encryption, which is not free and not cheap. So yes, budget is a huge factor in all of this. I'm not sure why you're chiming in with a comment that makes absolutely no sense.
Because I have an opinion also sorry you do not like it. Not going to have a contest here you have yours I have mine its over.

Sorry, Bud, but that wasn't an "opinion" you posted regarding the budget and cost of encryption. You tried to make a statement and missed the mark.

I'll just leave this post of yours here, ironic as it also applies to some of your chiming in also...

Poster at post #36 is just stirring the pot as they have in other post without any knowledge of local systems and will proclaim to know better than known local facts.

Oh yeah, just like CNN's coverage of fire bombings of NYPD RMP's saying "mostly peaceful protests" 😂😂😂

Those events are part of the very reason for this happening. There was a significant amount of malicious interference and numerous violations of NY § 140.40 during those riots. Frankly, it was likely the last straw.

I’m tired of this. Keep it about the radio aspect. Feel free to discuss politics on some other website of your choice.

Thank you.

From what I'm hearing the NYPD has come to it's senses, consistent with the press conference, and realized December is an unrealistic timeline to be finished. Apparently the attitude is now "it takes as long as it takes". Get it right, not get it quick now in effect.

OK let's go back to the post KevinC posted, and remember this thread is about technical updates, so please keep it to its intended course.

Thanks.
