This direct download gets you to V.889 but many of us are already at V.891...

As others have suggested, that area of Arkansas may have been impacted by Helene. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them.
I just sold my home and moved to MI. The people that bought my home were hit HARD the day after closing by this hurricane. My old neighborhood just got power back on this evening. Over 1 week later. We were lucky to leave via Asheville and I-40 a week before it was knocked out.

OOPS! Someone shut down the Win95 Workstation Whistler is hosting critical services on again!

What a total clown show. I'm sure "Brian" will be along shortly to tell everyone they don't know a single thing about this being down, but rest assured, you'll need lots of patience while they ignore the issue.

Whistler is trash hanging on by a shoe string, they've flipped the bird to their customers, have clearly stopped investing in either attracting or maintaining any capable staff who give a s**t about the customer base, and I suspect any previous investors (customer base included) in this trainwreck are lamenting their investment choices.

The local Whistler FanBoi Klub showing up to "have sympathy", "they're victims", "it's my fault for not being more understanding", and "it's a fantastic and capable company" in 3....2....1.....

Michael Valentine [escort and V1 radar detectors] died suddenly sept 20. Are all of these people simply dying off? Whistler company seems to be dying or dead.

You need to check Escort and Valentine1 both as they are up and operational right now.
I think you missed my point. Cincinnati Microwave's Escort and passport products were bought out and are doing just fine. They seem to be creating new products. Jim Jaeger could be healthy or deceased, I don't think that is a factor now. Last time I heard about him was when their home in Indian Hill was struck by lightning. Valentine however is still a Cincinnati based private company. I wonder if they will continue creating new products. I do not know why Whistler doesn't seem to care about their clients. But I do know that time marches on and Whistler's mgt. seems to have more important things to worry about. Like putting BOTH feet on the floor in the morning? Who knows, I only ran into this little problem lately, and worked around it, but this thread shows that it has been happening for many months.

I just called whistler, their voicemail says they will be closed till Oct 1st. Well here it is Oct 15th and when you call you get the same message that they are closed till Oct 1st. Are they officially out of business? From talking to several scanner distributers, they can't and haven't been able to get any product for months now. Anybody want to buy a cheap door stop?

They should implement the Library Creator in the US version of EzScan
similar to what we have in the International version,
then you guys would not have to rely on the whistler site.

Quite Right. If it can be written as a separate project perhaps. But I suspect it needs to be integrated into software for which Whistler Group owned the source code. Perhaps it went down with the ship. From my point of view Whistler Group no longer exist. There is no recent evidence to suggest other wise. The old excuses have become absurd.

This thread should probably be merged with the others that suggest Whistler Group is defunct. The root cause for the socket error is the same.

For giggles I just checked to see if an update is availble and got a different error message. No socket error was returned, just "There was an error getting the frequency library version from the internet"

Not better, just different error.
