Got the same problem. Way around is to download updater directly for your scanner.
It worked for me.

My WS-1080's database is pretty outdated, but I'm getting the socket error when I try to bring it up to date. And I see that the whistlergroup.com site is an absolute mess.
I used the Internet Archive Wayback Machine (web.archive.org) and was able to view previously saved/archived versions of the Whistler Group website when it was fully functional. I was able to drill down to the Manual Library Update webpage (captured on 08-03-2024) but unfortunately it only contains the detailed instructions on how to do a manual update and does not contain the actual library update file.
If someone can post a zip file (or link to a file they are hosting) of the latest library update from their PC, you could use that with the detailed instructions linked above to update your scanner(s). I believe the latest version of the library that Whistler had posted via EZ Scan (before things went sideways) was version 891 which was from a few weeks back.

The latest I have is 889 but its installed. I dont think I have the original zip file with the update anymore. Hopefully someone has the 891 or later update they could post.
Here we go again. same error Socket 11001 looks like we are starting over with the updating errors.......
I have a PRO-668. It had all the trunking stuff for SC. I just moved to Western MI. Does the radio have what II need onboard and I am just not aware of how to get it to load? OR must I try to go to this EZ Scan website that currently is NOT in Service? I am afraid to buy ANY whistler product (like a radar detector) now because the whistler website is in fact huge mess and everything I am reading here suggests they are going under?? I think there is maybe a library in the PRO-668 onboard chip ??

This direct download gets you to V.889 but many of us are already at V.891...
As others have suggested, that area of Arkansas may have been impacted by Helene. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them.
