Yes they do its called a Paypal confirmed address.

That means the shipping address matches the credit card billing address for Paypal and out of US shipments

I dont know the specifics of the Brazil payment but im betting he didnt have a confirmed address.

Here is info direct from Paypal why we do NOT take paypal out of US.Paypal now says SOME UK and Canadian can be verfied.
Addresses provided by U.K. and Canadian buyers may have a status of
Confirmed. Because not all credit card companies are currently able to
confirm addresses, only some U.K. and Canadian addresses can be
confirmed at this time. Sellers can use the presence of a Confirmed
Address as an additional risk management tool when considering
transactions where the Seller Protection Policy may be unavailable. All
addresses for PayPal members outside the U.S., U.K. and Canada will
continue to show a status of Unconfirmed.

So If your in Canada with confirmed Paypal give us a try.We ship via US mail for 30 dollars.
thanks

What happened to the price on the PSR500? It was $449 yesterday and now it's $499 just like almost everywhere else.

I was just about to order one today but now I'm rethinking my purchase once again.

I ordered one monday, and havn't received tracking number; have asked twice. They obviously changed the price, too.

Edit: Just received the tracking # all is OK--had me a little worried because I need it by next week.

?????

I was just about to lay down some dough for the PSR-400. It was $169.99. With the $10 coupon type discount that was advertised it would have made it $159.99 plus $7.95 Shipping which would have made it somewhere around $167.94. That was awesome. Today I check the site and its $199.99. Now its $40 more with the shipping. What happened? I saved my money thinking I could place the order this week. He just posted this advertisement 8 days ago... Another disappointment......

Call and ask them.

I just did!

I got a machine telling me that it is their lunch hour and nobody is available. I left them a message saying that we would like an explanation of why prices changed from one day to the next. I suggested that someone post something on here. Who knows if they will but I tried at least.

Hello-
I'm kind of shocked of the message I rec'd from a RR member who insisted that we need to "defend" ourself on the forum as far as scanner prices are concerned.
Trido is 100% correct on the issue of MAP prices. As a authorized dealer we are no longer allowed to have on our wbesite prices listed that are lower then the prices GRE tells us we must advertise at.
If you read the site over there is a nice box on each GRE scanner called a "suprise box" it tells you to click it. On the items in no way do we advertise lower the "enforced" GRE scanner prices.
If your interested in purchasing a GRE scanner I can sell them at any price I wish, but can't in the advertisment show a lower retail price. Or GRE will pull our account?
Is GRE playing Big Brother? Well if you disagree with the way GRE is forcing dealers to advertise their products please feel free to call them, as our hands are tied. GRE is playing hardball, and its rather crazy if you ask me. Its like having 100 restaurants in your town with the same menu, at the same price because the mayor says its the law. However when billed the restaurant can sell you at any price they wish. Rules are rules, and we'd rather follow them then lose selling them.
However our site clearly has a pleasant, click this button on the top right corner of each scanner. I can't on the forum say what that does, according to the GRE agreement, but I can say its a good idea to do so.
Plus previous posts from our company that we could argue are grandfathered in still apply as far as RR member pricing on GRE prices.
Any questions you can always call us 520-374-2626
All RR members still get VIP treatment and nothing has changed.
If your interested in checking out the CLICK HERE, SUPRISE BOX, members are in no way limited to letting other members know what the box does!

Alberta Canada, Eh!
I just ordered a PSR-600 from Theradiocompany. A very pleasant hassle-free experience.
I called, rather than web ordered, just to ensure that I could get USPS shipping to Canada. No problem!
I got very good pricing (the 499 "official" price, less the surprise box 49.00 , and RRGREPROMO 20.00)

I actually got Michael on the phone, and he was very pleasant and helpful.

Highly recommended!

Fellow Canadians, note the 1-800 number doesn't work for us, so call direct 520-374-2626 not complaining, just a heads-up long distance is cheap these days anyway.

Ok here it is!

I just got off the phone with the gentleman from the radioco. This is the way it works. I will use the PSR-400 as an example because that is the one I am getting. You go to the GRE scanner you want. There is a surprise box above the price that you can click or not. I STRONGLY suggest you do this. I did and it revealed an instant discount of $19.99 off of the $199.99 advertised price. That leaves me at $179.99. They are honoring the originaly advertised RR member discount, in this case and for this scanner, it is $10. So I am now at $169.99. Add a very reasonable $7.95 Shipping to the US and I have my PSR-400 delivered for $177.94...Very nice...... Now, when you consider that the radio would have cost me $207.94 in the first place, at the new price I am saving $30.00. Again, very nice and I hope we give these folks our business. I dont see anybody else jumping through hoops to give us discounts. GRE is really the one to blame here. Control, control , control, thats the root of the problem here. Anyhow, I'm glad I made the call.

It looks like a great article. Too bad you have to be a subscriber to read the whole thing.

Sorry about that. Here is some of the article:

Manufacturers are embracing broad new legal powers that amount to a type of price-fixing -- enabling them to set minimum prices on their products and force retailers to refrain from discounting.
For the better part of a century, punishing retailers for selling at cut-rate prices was an automatic violation of antitrust law. However, a Supreme Court ruling last year involving handbag sales at a Dallas mom-and-pop store, Kay's Kloset, upended that original 1911 precedent, potentially altering the face of U.S. discount retailing.
P1-AM617A_BABIE_20080817222815.gif
Retailers say an array of manufacturers now require them to abide by minimum-pricing pacts, or risk having their supplies cut off. Jacob Weiss of BabyAge.com, which specializes in maternity and children's gear, says nearly 100 of his 465 suppliers now dictate minimum prices, and nearly a dozen have cut off shipments to him. "If this continues, it's going to put us out of the baby business," he says.
BabyAge is now suing about a half-dozen major baby-gear makers and retailers alleging price collusion.
The new rules mean "it's becoming a nightmare operating a business," says Brian Okin, founder of WorldHomeCenter.com Inc., a home-improvement retailer. The company is suing lighting maker L.D. Kichler in New York state court alleging that L.D. Kichler's minimum-price policy caused the retailer to miss out on substantial profits. "It just makes it so difficult to compete," Mr. Okin says.
Manufacturers like the policies partly because discounts can tarnish a brand's image. "We don't want consumers to think we're the cheapest guys in the world," says Ray Minoff of L.D. Kichler, the lighting maker. Retailers also have more of an incentive to heavily market price-protected goods, manufacturers say.
Critics argue the policies undermine the free market by limiting shoppers' power to decide for themselves whether to, say, buy at rock-bottom price from a no-frills outlet, or pay full price to someone offering better service or other benefits.
"What we're seeing here is the potential for a reshaping of the retail landscape in America," says Gregory Gundlach, a marketing professor at the University of North Florida, who was an expert witness for the plaintiff in last year's Supreme Court case.
State attorneys general are warning that minimum pricing, also known as "resale price maintenance," will feed inflation. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, in his dissent in the case, estimated that legalizing price-setting could add $300 billion to annual consumer costs.
In May, attorneys general from 35 states -- including New York, California, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania -- wrote to Congress urging passage of a law to make policies like these illegal. "As the chief antitrust enforcers in our respective States, we know all too well the harm that can be caused" by pricing pacts, the letter says.
Consumer advocates say they are seeing the impact particularly in baby goods, consumer electronics, home furnishings and pet food. Edgar Dworsky of ConsumerWorld.org, a provider of price comparisons for consumers, says retail-pricing norms have already changed significantly. "My sense is that price-fixing is becoming more common," says Mr. Dworsky, a former Massachusetts assistant attorney general who has worked on antitrust matters.
Online retailers say some policies target them specifically. Mr. Okin of WorldHomeCenter.com says L.D. Kichler's policy applies only to advertised prices -- meaning discounting is OK as long as it isn't publicized. But online shops, by definition, publicize their prices online.
P1-AM597_BABIES_20080817183617.gif
"We are being punished by [last year's Supreme Court ruling] exactly because we're more efficient than our competitors," Mr. Okin says.
Mr. Minoff of L.D. Kichler points out the policy applies to both traditional and online retailers.
It is still illegal for a group of manufacturers or retailers (or both) to band together and fix prices. That would be a violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act, which prohibits precisely that kind of anticompetitive behavior.
The Supreme Court ruling at the heart of the recent changes dealt with a narrower issue: It ruled on a manufacturer's right to enforce minimum prices on its own products.
In the case, Leegin Creative Leather Products Inc., a maker of women's purses and accessories, was sued by Kay's Kloset, a Dallas retailer, after Leegin cut off shipments to Kay's. Kay's had been discounting Leegin's wears.
The high court's June 2007 decision, written by Justice Anthony Kennedy, declared that minimum-pricing pacts between manufacturers and retailers could benefit customers under certain circumstances. For instance, the pacts could foster competition by giving retailers enough profit to promote a brand or offer better service, Justice Kennedy wrote. Individual price-setting agreements should be examined on a case-by-case basis, the ruling said, to be sure they're not anticompetitive.
The Supreme Court's 5-4 decision in the case, Leegin vs. PSKS Inc. (the parent company of Kay's Kloset), reversed a precedent-setting 1911 ruling against Dr. Miles Medical Co., a maker of relaxants and sleep aids that had cut off shipments to discounters.

I have read through all of the posts on here twice. I went to the Radio Company's web site and found the Surprise. After proceeding to the checkout, I did not find a place to put the RR promo code. I did see in a post that this was not valid for other offers, but that it was being honored for RR. Did I read that right? If so, does it have to be a phone order to use the promo or did I miss a box?

Thanks for the help. And, thanks Radio Company for the support of the hobby!!

No you did not miss a box. GRE will NOT let retailers advertize out right the discounts. I would strongly suggest calling them and doing it over the phone. Michael is very easy to talk to and will explain any questions you have regarding this problem. I know because he did so for me.
