I think it was probably a simple case of having the wrong frequency dialed in on the comm panel.

If you listen to 121.500 for about two hours, you will hear pilots making cabin annoucements and reply to ATC instructions on 121.50 instead of the ATC frequency. Simple case of not paying attention to the details.

And based on the fact that the aircraft has visited both of the locations with 361.3 within that past week...perhaps that is the source of the frequency choice. They never were close to Giantkiller airspace to even need to contact them or use that frequency for comms with GK

That's funny. I completely missed that!

That location looks closer to the airport than National Park NJ. Just wondering where you were approximately ?
It was Red Bank Battlefield Park. I left the parking lot and made my way down to the river, and then out on a long wooden pier. Air Force One pretty much disappeared over the parking lot, so I was glad I had given myself some extra time by being out on the water.

Yes that is the name - I remembered National Park but not the name of the park at the end of the road.

Great spotting location.

It is. And when they take off in the opposite direction, Fort Billings Park is great - a narrow little park sandwiched into industrial areas, directly across from the airport. For higher shots, the Bridgeport Speedway lots can be good with a long lens. UPS 747-800 weekdays to Germany generally flies right over when taking off in that direction.

"HOBBY 90" C-130J #03-8154 and "HOBBY 92" C-130J #05-8157 (ADS-B has them listed as HOBBY 90) are heading into Norfolk Naval Air Station (KNGU) this evening on a flight from Salt Lake International Airport (KSLC).

Aircraft were working ATC with Indianapolis Center ARTCC Sector 26 River on 124.225 MHz, and Washington Center ARTCC Sector 29 Hot Springs on 134.400 MHz.

I didn't catch what freq the aircraft were using air to air.
