"HOBBY 90" C-130J #03-8154 and "HOBBY 92" C-130J #05-8157 (ADS-B has them listed as HOBBY 90) are heading into Norfolk Naval Air Station (KNGU) this evening on a flight from Salt Lake International Airport (KSLC).

Aircraft were working ATC with Indianapolis Center ARTCC Sector 26 River on 124.225 MHz, and Washington Center ARTCC Sector 29 Hot Springs on 134.400 MHz.

I didn't catch what freq the aircraft were using air to air.
They both landed at KORF Norfolk International.

NOBLE's in CAP chatting 376.175 about how crosswinds may be out of limits at A/C so
Dover winds are showing better in case.

Just noticed SAM-131 GLF5 inbound from Austin Tx diverted to BWI.. Strong WNW winds.
Latest upper air soundings show winds are howling..

100kts above 250mb level

looks like the top of the cap FL180 [506mb] is around 50 kts.

Hopefully it'll look a little like this. (Yes I know this type of ship has been decommissioned, but an LSU could work).

Doesn't look stable enough to land helicopters on though.
It'll be interesting to see the type they finally end up with.

Hopefully inexpensive and removable.

Thanks
Joel

1801L and 2015L - Off frequency from 11175 by a kHz or two, but it sounded like a man yelling in a foreign language to another station faintly heard.
Heard again 2330L 09 Mar and 0330L 10 Mar last night.
Currently hearing it on 11171.1 and very weakly somewhere around 11182.

18:00 EDT ---- March just came in like a lion here at the beach - just had a peak wind at 60 mph

Bet it is not fun in the CAP
Still out of limits at Andrews.. SAM-262 B737 #01-0015 inbound from Lajes diverts to BWI.
They gave it a try but diverted anyway. Runway 28 at BWI is west right into the wind.
Gonna be a few Limos from BWI to DC tonight.
