MC-130 21-5973 came up on Baton Ops as Zippo?? as alpha2 with multiple write-ups. They were returning from Pope Air Field.
Zippo must be a new call sign for the 193rd MC-130's.
1153 hrs. Local RCH124 to WRI due to Hi heat indication on brakes. RCH124 was communicating with RCH554 on 378.8500. RCH554 suggested that they just meet in Hawaii tomorrow not to hurry to meet them at Travis today.1117 hrs local; KC-46A 10-46063 RCH124 left WRI heading west and just inside Indiania looks like it has turned around and returning to WRI.
Should have left the main gear hang down for a while then retract the gear when cooler......common practice particularly for commercial aircraft with quick turn times or lots of braking used from the gate to the runway.1153 hrs. Would love to have seen that!
