Just heard the District 4 sergeant advise the dispatcher to “have all district 4 units switch to the district 4 tac channel”.

Does anyone know what talkgroup that might me? I see there are tac channels for all the other districts except 4.
7 48 AM, dispatcher on tg 9041 advised all D4 units to return to Dispatch 4.

Does anyone have any idea when Mamaroneck Village/Town/Larchmont in Westchester County, NY will switch over to the MMRS (MTA PD) P.25 radio system? A good source told me that Larchmont Police got the new console in, and it is being installed now.
These (3) departments have been using 154.755 MHz forever and very poor coverage.

Picking up TG 9095 on Metro, sounds like a D3 tac channel

I decided to load the MRRS system into my BC-395 & my Home Patrol 2. Live close to the CI rail. I get nothing. I downloaded the zone 1 & 2 trunk frequencies from RR on my Proscan, put them into a system, did the same for Districts 1/2/3 [listed as zone 3 jamaica]. Nothing. Had my MTA friend with his MTA PD portable right next to my jeep. His radio receives ok, my 396XT trunk tracker 2; crickets. The HP-2 is in my jeep, 1/4 whip @150, Strindberg pre-ampSame with my HP-2. The 396XT sits on my office window facing East, with a 15’ tri-band ham whip on it real head-scratcher, never had this problem before. What am I doing wrong. My guess is i need a real external antenna as i get only 2 bars on the 396XT. TY for the 411.

MTA district talkgroups are P25 Phase 2 (T in Mode column). The BCD396XT is capable of P25 Phase 1 only. TE is fully encrypted and cannot be received by any scanner.

Your radio may display that, but this is what's actually in RR

Zone 1 Simulcast.
770.20625
770.94375
773.54375
773.81875
774.28125

District 1 & 2 and 3 are active on Zone 1.

What is your city and county? Please export and attach your favorites list file so we can take a look at it. Go to the File tab in Sentinel and click on Export to hpe file. You will need to zip the exported file to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and open the zipped file.

Islip & Suffolk county. I even tried downloading the MRRS system nationwide system in the HP-2. Same result. I see the signal bars lighting up, so it’s receiving. Maybe problem is I haven’t tagged the right system tags [law-talk, law-tac etc. in the HP-2?

It is also possibly you are in an area where the HP-2 can't handle the simulcast distortion. Are the signal bars steady? If unstable, the signal is probably going in and out of phase too much to decode. You can try moving the scanner to find a location with a good strong and steady signal. The HP-2 is reportedly very poor on handling simulcast. Also check your squelch setting which can make the problem worse if too tight.

If you do not enter a service type when programming manually, it defaults to Custom 1 and that is the only service type needed. If you download from the database, all of the appropriate service types will need to be enabled.

Reported by users, poor analog sensitivity but GREAT on P.25 digital and especially simulcasting.
Do a search on here about the SDS scanner issues mainly desense and spurious response problems if you are in a major metro area with other strong local signals.

Actually the sensitivity on the SDS is amazing. The problem is, it's TOO sensitive, and is subject to heavy overload issues, and desensing like @k2hz stated.

Not good for that price-point of $699.95---sorry.

I know this is taking this thread off track, but have you tried to adjust the filters? I was talking to a person on the phone the other day who owned an SDS model for "years". I asked him this question and his reply was, "what filters?"

Just sayin...
