From the last sentence in the article: "The biggest barrier to the technology's adoption, he said, is that people just aren't familiar with the idea."

You want to make a typical drone of suburban living freak out? Take them underneath a high voltage transmission line at night. Pull out a standard fluorescent light bulb (not the compact ones). It will glow. The people near you will think they're being irradiated with evil.

There are a few issues with wireless power transmission, and one of them is this thing about electrical radiation regulations.

I'm willing to bet that most people haven't put a damned bit of thought in to any of this. It won't sell. The greenies will get hold of it and make everyone scared that their kid will grow up funny.

Of course kids will grow up funny anyway. It's what they do to get even with us parents. Sigh.

Sounds like a cool idea but what scares me is how this will affect radio reception, especially on the HF bands.

Wi-Tricity is what happens when an engineer take a marketing class and figure out he can get rich selling pure BS.
