I believe its like a Motorist Assistance Patrol type thing. Like in NC you have IMAP, IN has Hoosier Helpers etc...Ok now what would TGID 4981 (ROAD ASSIST) be? I’m not familiar with that
Correct, these are the TRIMARC vehicles. They also have access to the law enforcement talk groups on the system as well.I believe its like a Motorist Assistance Patrol type thing. Like in NC you have IMAP, IN has Hoosier Helpers etc...
I fully agree with the encryption level that they are going with , as a former LEO , I understand the difference between public need to know , and officer safety , tactical safety, and with the amount of information run on people and the ability of people to use that information in the wrong way , encryption is a safe balance
There should be availability of encrypted tac channels if the need arises, for example a mass casualty incident or similar, where there may be interop needs. I don't see a need for encrypted displatch or standard fireground uses.I disagree. For decades police/fire communications were not encrypted and I never heard of an instance were this impacted officer safety. I do agree with certain operations there is a need for encryption. But general communications and dispatch, the public has a right to know what is going on with the public safety operations that they pay for through their taxes. Fire should NEVER be encrypted.
They did NOT!Does anyone know for sure if Campbell County encrypted their fire channels, too?
So is there no information on this channel at all? Because I’ve only seen to my knowledge a total of two hits in the 600 range but you said several so I don’t know maybe if you had an idea of what it is or what other talk groups in 600 you’ve seen. I know you did say an announce group but if you could elaborate on that.I have seen several hits on 600xx talk groups, and a few other odd ones. If I had to take a guess I would say it's probably an announce group but I'm really not sure. The radio IDs I've seen on them don't follow the standard county numbering.
Yes they have.Hello all,
I am from MI and going to be traveling through Northern KY in the next month. The last time I was in Newport the FD was still conventional (Aug 2020). I have noticed some updates to the NKY system and am wondering if the 3 counties in the Greater Cincy area have gone digital.
From my UniTrunker data I show since 10/10/2019;So is there no information on this channel at all? Do you think these could connect to the new KSP system that is going up and that they are just doing testing on it? I got another hit on 60001 I believe a few days ago. It was something about an officer got struck in wilder (Campbell Co.) they are pursuing a vehicle and that they needed immediate assistance. They also kept giving updates on the drivers location. I remember reading in another thread about this situation that happened a little bit ago so that’s why I’m thinking that it’s testing for some department or a channel or something I don’t know.From my UniTrunker data I show since 10/10/2019;
60001 - 68 hits
60002 - 40 hits
60003 - 11 hits
60040 - 15 hits
60045 - 3 hits
60046 - 5 hits
60047 - 3 hits
60048 - 12 hits
Radio IDs in the 590012x range
Unlikely.... But not impossibleDo you think these could connect to the new KSP system that is going up
Is there a likely answer?Unlikely.... But not impossible
