OK so 8.7 stopped using the Broadcast lockout file. Bob sent me 8.8 which also didn't work. Noted that 8.8 acted like I had no CFG file and everything had to be put back in just like a brand new setup. Decided to uninstall PS and delete the PS folder. Reinstalled Ver 8.6 and viola the s/w started with all the data for my feed and Broadcast lockout worked fine. I didn't have to Broadcastify my feed info or put all the stuff in for the SOIP like I did with 8.7 and 8.8 My only guess is that somehow the paths for the cfg files changed.

Is anyone else having this issue? Bob is working on it for me.

Ed,
Please don't discuss test files here. One example of why email bug reports get higher priority and double post gets lower. Give me a chance. End of discussion.

Where does the proscan logging grid data reside?

We had an outage here due to a storm. When I restarted my feed computer everything was reset as if it was a new proscan installation. The grid, recordings tab, everything... is reset. I had to reset the comport, reset the audio input source, all of it. Where does all that data reside? I tried searching the hard drive for key terms that correlate to frequencies and channel names but it never hits on anything.

I'm using Windows 10.

I bet you are running a 64 bit OS. This is from the ProScan Manual:
On 64 bit systems, If installing in the folder: "\Program Files (x86)", The OS will put all the ProScan generated files (Configuration, Recordings, Logging, etc...) in "\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\ProScan" unless ProScan is elevated to administrative rights.

See the ProScan Files section in the manual for a description and file name of each file generated by ProScan.

Thanks. That was the proper location. Unfortunately all the previous data are still lost. The files are blank.

I was just curious if I was the only one with that issue. Point taken Thanks for your assistance.

Publicly you were talking about ver. 8.8 (which doesn't exist) buggy. It was an experimental file. Any test files for debugging purposes shall remain private.

You know I don't understand why RR.com doesn't direct everyone to use RadioFeed for streaming. I don't think people know about the features built in for the streams like the broadcast lockout feature. You get to listen to what you want on your scanner including those forbidden freqs/talk groups but the stream gets nothing just by editing a simple txt file to "censor out" those channels.

I think that may have been the most useful suggestion I ever made for a piece of software back when I asked for it in Proscan.

It is in ProScan! That is one reason why I use ProScan other than the fact that it has great support. But I also like the RSOIP feature in ProScan.

Yeah I know it is in Proscan but it first was in RadioFeed and moved itself over.

Proscan Noob help

Hello,
(whew, this is a very long thread)
I just bought Proscan for my late fathers old Bearcat 780XLT. I'm new to this so I'm hoping someone could give me a (brief) newbie lowdown on how I would add a trunked system for my state, which is the WISCOM Project 25 Phase 1 Trunk for Wisconsin. I have a 3 month subscription to RR so I can download it from within Proscan, but it doesn't seem to place itself in the trunk group and prompts me to replace existing channels. I also am unsure how to setup the Talkgroups.
Sorry for being a PITA, but any help or pointers to help is appreciated.

Thanks!

The reason it's prompting to replace existing channels is because you entered frequencies in the Channels Banks and/or Talk Groups in the Trunk List before. Look at the bank corresponding to the Starting Channel entered in the RR Import to see what's there now. If you want to keep the existing data then choose another starting channel.

After clicking the "Retrieve Data" Button, expand the data tree on the right. All the FRQ and TGID nodes are selected by default and will import. Unselect the FRQ or TGID nodes not to be imported.

Once RR data has been imported to the ProScan database then upload the database to the scanner.

Thanks Bob!
I guess I didn't know there were channels already defined in those areas since it wasn't my scanner and I didn't set it up originally. So lesson learned there.
I'll try what you said.
Also, do the Talkgroups then get setup on that import as well?

Thanks again,
Mike

Talk Groups are imported if selected in the RR Import window data tree. They are selected by default. Expand the data tree to verify the Talk Groups and Frequencies are selected.

I really like the new UID features, especially the ability to edit on the fly.
A couple of things that I would suggest for the future. In the UID logging screen, have the ability to see Talkgroup and/or Channel. That way the log of hits would reference the TG that a user was on in addition to System/Site. Also, if I am editing and there is traffic, the box reverts back to the old alias and moves on.
Is it possible for a single database to be used for several instances of ProScan on one computer at the same time? If so, how would I change the location of the file in the Option menu?

I kind of figured you and all would like it.

I'll look into it before next release.

I'll make it so when editing the UID logging, the logging will be temporary disabled until finished editing. For a work around, put the scanner in Menu mode while editing.

You can have all the instances use the same database file. Go to the Database menu and click on Save As then choose the folder. On the other instances, go to the Database menu and click on Open then choose the folder that you picked the first time.

That being said, it may be a little cumbersome to use because when the database is opened, the data is in memory and updating the database from one instance will not update the other instances automatically. After making changes or downloading on one instance, the database must be saved to file. The other instances will not update automatically. You will have to reopen the other databases.
