Problems with Pro-197

I have had this problem since I bought this radio back in 2009. I have a digital Radio Shack Pro-197 and a old Analog Pro-2050 I have both trunked digital systems like the St.Louis city p25 and then I have in a separate scan block all together the old St.Louis county Analog non trunked system in the digital pro-197. In the old Pro-2050 I have St.Louis county Analog programed in. I noticed that when a signal comes in on the old Pro-2050 from St.Louis county Analog non trunked system I can hear it loud and clear but yet I received nothing on my newer pro-197 digital police scanner. Why is this?
It drives me crazy. I take my new scanner everywhere with me and like to monitor both St.Louis City p25 digital trunked system and the old St.Louis county Analog system at the same time. But I know since I can have for example 155.130 paused on both scanners and I can hear St.Louis county loud on the old scanner but yet hear nothing on the new scanner. Even with the squelch all the way down. Please help me on this issue.

Do you have CTCSS (PL) tone set in the 197?

Is the MODE set to FM in the 197?

Not sure

I use the win500 program. I did mess with a new type of wire and brought in some better signals. Some Analog will come in just fine and others will not. It could be my antennas. All the digital freqs work great. I wish I could send someone my p.500 file to see if I have anything set up wrong. Do you know of any better programs other then win500 for the Pro-197/GRE PSR-600?

radio shack pro-197 v-scanner folder problem

When I load v-scanner folder #8 into my Pro-197 it prompts me to wait while it loads; I do this, then when I go to scan the folder NOTHING; if's as if the radio is muted (of course there is not a mute button on the radio). I can hit the WX button and the weather works and I can hit the SRC button and the radio will search the various preprogrammed programs in the radio. The radio is otherrwise working. What am I doing wrong or what step am I leaving out. Please forgive me if I am treaing on someone elses problem; I have never used radio reference before!

I have downloaded folder #8 in my scanner and enabled the folder but now when I enter #17 (broken arrow) the radio says it is scanning and the signal strength is showing a strong signal but THE RADIO DOES NOTHING ... JUST AS IF THE SOUND IS MUTED OR SOMETHING. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong... calling Radio Shack offers zero help! Thanks in advance, Jim Hays
