Has anyone compared the intermod rejection and RF shielding between these two? I tried a PSR-500 and found the squelch to be somewhat "loose and choppy" when searching conventional bands. I would think the metal case on the PSR-600 would eliminate some of that? The older PRO-2006 and PRO-43 had a much "tighter" squelch.

I plan to purchase the PSR-600 with the next few days and would like some comparisons...

I've asked the same question but so far I've not seen a reply. One dealer quite bluntly told me that he found no difference between the two units--in that he couldn't use them or even demo them at his location due to the 800MHz front-end issues. I bought a 500 and found it essentially unusable at my home location (within a half mile of two cell sites) and while travellling (see a cell site coming up, the 800 freqs go down the drain). I greatly enjoyed the interface and frequency management--plus the software that's been developed for it is great! Sensitivity is superb, but the rejection was horrible on 800.

Don't own a 600 but with my 500 I attenuate my local TRS systems, live within a mile of an old cell (800 mhz) site, and don't ever turn on Global attenuate. The global setting is unusable as far as I am concerned, seems to suck in noise making listening unbearable. The 600 is identical and should be the same.
