Probably bad decodes caused by weak signals and/or simulcast interference.

Has anyone logged any traffic on TG 4001?
I noticed it today but it was while I was trying to monitor the incident in Schenectady so I didn't listen to the audio. I think the rid was 7516.

Sorry, brain fart. I have no 4001 listed here. The highest TGID seen so far is 1004, which is East Greenbush Fire/EMS Dispatch.

I can't find my list of RID blocks, but 75nn units are generally out-of-county mutual aid companies.

After logging traffic on 401 today I’m pretty sure I just misread the hit on Tuesday.
As Dave said, I don’t think TG 4001 exists, though maybe some day.

If they really want everybody on the system, then they are going to need a lot more frequencies.

A typical fire call takes up 2 or 3 talk paths. A mutual aid fire can take twice that many. Much of the problem seems to be procedural.

New Talkgroup

Over the last week or so I've logged traffic a few times on TG 210.
The RIDs 423377 and 7713.
The traffic I heard today was a field unit (707) advising dispatch they were clear and returning. The transmissions I heard last week with the same unit number sounded like it could be law enforcement or perhaps it's another county agency? Anyone have any additional insight on this?

210 is a LE TG
Awhile back (when the system came online initally) there was alot testing going on with this channel

unit 707 as you heard was N.Greenbush PD unit 707
i suspect that only afew agencies are using this TG part time IE EGPD RCPD NGPD as Other agencies either have there own p25 channel - conventional or still on analog

Thanks for the info. I couldn't remember who that unit number belonged to. That's the only unit I've heard call out on that talkgroup.
As you said, almost all of the law traffic for East Greenbush, North Greenbush and the Sheriff's Office remains on their conventional analog and digital frequencies.

TRAFFIC

Local PD's testing actual operations getting ready to move over to 800, anticipated in November with VHF digital simulcast. Current system use at 1/3 capacity at peak. Plenty of room for PD's.

Wait till there's a fire. 5 talkgroups will light up (more if mutual aid crosses battalion boundaries) and everybody will get bonked. Unless they've improved communications training and procedures since moving from the old system.

Schodack PD is awaiting upgrade to equipment at station, don't count on Law to be moved over by this November.

LE TG 201 is starting to be active, is this a simulcast of Sheriff Frequency or Hoosick Falls police dept?

Monitoring both the Sheriff’s VHF frequency and TG 201 and can confirm that 201 appears to be a sheriff’s dispatch simulcast.
