Ha! I just listed that as unknown in the wiki. I saw it logged but really didn't catch what it was - best guess was Stow FD. Good work Frank! :)

I see TG 37296 showing up recently (also not listening).

There are days that searching for new talkgroups is easy. Kent FD called for help from Stow. Stow asked dispatch to "patch Kent to EMS 3". All traffic showed on 38000. That couldn't have been any easier. Got the talkgroupID and its official name.

Thanks Frank. I was hearing that up here in Geauga but could not get my hands around what 38000 was. I can take it off my unknown list.

37936 is Stow EMS 1
37968 is Stow EMS 2

Rarely used except for patches to surrounding communities ...

Logged UIDs 29994 and 29956 recently on Twinsburg PD1 TG 33936. Previously someone mentioned UID 29956 as a radio tech so I suppose that 29994 could be also. I've heard radio techs testing on the Twinsburg system recently but didn't notice the UIDs. :(

Not hearing Summit 800 system

I am not hearing Akron or anything else for that matter on the 800 system on my 2096 or 96, and I know I' ve had the scanner on in the past week or two and I heard everything fine. I hear other systems fine.

So what has changed that I missed??

Do you have all the frequencies programmed?

The control channel is presently 858.5125.

Not hearing Summit 800

Well apparently I was wrong. The control channels had changed and I was unaware.

Since Noon Wed, June 25th Summit County has been totally silent at my location in Geauga County. I assume my reception comes off the Twinsburg tower and perhaps there are some reduced power issues going on? Is it also possible that they are using a control channel that is not one of the posted Control or alternate channels? Ed, any insight?

I'm only capable of hearing the Twinsburg Twp site and it's working fine. The control channel is as I mentioned above 858.5125. It was changed Monday the 23rd.

Thanks Ed. Since I heard them Monday through Wednesday noon perhaps they have a power issue which prevents me getting the signal here in Geauga where I am at. I will be mobile today and will see if I hear them out from my trees.

Well I see great variations in signal on my BCD436HP sitting on my desk on the second floor. I ran a test with the BCD996XT and a discone in the attic with all the voice channels programmed as a conventional system just to see what the RSSI readings were and they were pretty consistent except for a few. I'm in a marginal location for this system even though I'm within 2 miles of the Twinsburg Twp site. I see series of transmissions on the 436 with duckie that are full scale then I see a series that are dropping out with only 1 or two bars signal. Don't know...

An update to my issue with Summit County. I went mobile today to Berea and back on I-480 and Rt 422. Summit County was totally deaf except for the stretch from Rt 90 in Solon on Rt 422 to just East of the Valley View Bridge on I-480. East and west of those point I did not get one hit. I am thinking that maybe there is a power issue because of the storms this past week. Then again who knows. This is not the first time Summit went deaf in my area only to return in the future.

Well Summit reception is back in Western Geauga County. Sunday I drove down through Chagrin and Solon with my PSR 500 and 800 tuned to Summit. I did not receive Summit until I got to Rt 91 and Solon road and then only received 2 - 3 bars of signal. As I proceeded South on 91 the signal got stronger and was 5 bars at 91 & Pettibone. Back in Geauga today I started receiving Summit around 10:30 AM. Perhaps they had tower issues previously from the strong storms last week.

Heard testing at 12:45p.m. identified self as Cuyahoga Falls Fire Dept.

Interesting - they already have TGs. I thought I heard some ID but didn't really catch it. I thought "Hudson" - who knows? :)
~~~
TX IDs were 13xxx, 14xxx, and 15xxx if anyone knows who that might be.
I'll leave these out of the DB for a bit, until we see if they get used. I've got traffic on 43408, 43440, 43472, 43504, 43536. It is clearly one of the Falls dispatchers and Tech Services testing at various stations.
Listening to the audio, it almost sounds like they are setting up talkgroups for specific stations. 43536 mentions station 5. 43440 mentioned station 2. Most of the 5 talkgroups above had some tones tested.
I've added them to the wiki until we see if they start getting used.
I caught a channel name reference for 36464 this morning. Looking back over recordings, I have several references to this as the DB channel. I updated the description in the wiki, but am not convinced this is Munroe Falls. Traffic this morning mentioned 91 and 59. Could be Stow. In case anyone has radioIDs known radioIDs: 28196, 28204, and 28214.
