Everybody is guessing, but we went right to the source today and got all the answers about the new reincarnated Whistler.

Your stupid paywall keeps us from reading this wonderful puff piece.
Until there is actual product for sale, as far as I am concerned, just smoke and mirrors.

Don’t worry, the usual suspects will still say this is all BS (of which one member will mean bird seed 😂).

Again, gaslighting, smoke and mirrors. Anyone can throw up a flashy looking website full of hot air. Real, actual, tangible product is where the rubber meets the road. The late BlueTail Technologies (RIP sir) had a basic website, it was a 1 man show but he sold a REAL ACTUAL HOMEGROWN PRODUCT THAT WORKS.

Uniden is really the only game in town because they are a heritage Japanese company with a long history of diversified products in CB, marine, scanners and other consumer goods to carry the tremendous R&D of developing something like the SDS series. Whistler threw in the towel over 5 years ago when they realized this is much harder than it looks and they can't just buy Baoturd radios from China and throw their name plate on a panda casting.

Sorry to be that guy, but in the land of where fraud is king, I am just a little skeptical. Someone with a little money who watches "Shark Tank" bought a name. They have nothing else. Let them go on that show with air wares and get eaten like a minnow.

I call first dibs on it being bat squeeze. Mark this page, come back in a year, and zero products shipped. Change my mind.
Too soon to change your mind. Too soon to know what's going to happen.

If the best possible outcome was to come of this it's not going to happen overnight, it's going to take quite a while.. time will tell what direction this goes in.

Looking at the LinkeIn profile for the signatory I find it very interesting but not hopeful. You can make you own expectations.

View attachment 178103
"Acquisition, Integration and Divestiture for more than 25 deals" pretty much says it all.

Buy it cheap, sell off the patents and IP, make a profit, move on...

Hopefully, I'm wrong, because I love GRE/Whistler products and own many of them.

Does anyone know who JD Davis is? Hype-Man?

Clearly he’s a scammer. He’s going to take everyone’s money and run off with it.
Nope.

Businesses exist to make a profit. He has one business that appears to be operational to show that he is an owner/operator. He has twenty-five acquisition/integration/divestitures. That pretty much says it all.

It was a joke. I was just trying to fit in with the cool kids and predict/wish Whistler would fail.

Seriously, "stupid?" All you have to do is enter your email address and you can read the article for free. Even your local newspaper doesn't offer that.

Honestly, I hope that everything that the press release/interview mentioned comes true. I love GRE/Whistler scanners and was really disheartened when the previous company, couldn't even take a minute to let us customers know that they were going out of business.

The other thing, and this is longshot, but had Whistler made their intentions clear, there might have been a group of people and/or company that has a presence on here, that would have considered an investment of Whistler or at least the scanner portion. Maybe there was, but it's not something that I was privy to.

It's just that his business plan MO appears to show otherwise and that would really be a shame.
