This console hides wires from lights and radio very well.

That looks fantastic !! What a great looking install. Did u buy the plates extra ? Was the plate for the Kenwood pre-cut, or is it DIY ?? Sweet looking set up.

Thank you! I bought the console from Southwest Public Safety - www.swps.com - Whelen, Code-3, Streamlight, Pelican, Able 2 Sho-Me Police & Fire Equipment, Lights, Sirens, LED & Strobe from SWPS.com and it came with the radio bracket and 3 filler plates for free! I also ordered a mic clip bracket which they forgot to ship, but shipped as soon as I called. Highly recommend them, their prices are great!

Nice.

And a word about what someone posted on drilling a truck you will only keep a year or two...well if it isn't a lease, I wouldn't worry about it, I haven't seen a dealership person yet that would actually get up and check the roof for antenna holes. The last Tahoe I traded in had 2 NMO's on it, and I even left the cables in tact and under the dash in case a radio head like me wanted to use them. Just took the whips off.

The only indication I have ever seen or heard about antenna mounts on the roof is that the roof doesn't leak. They don't care about the antenna mounts or rubber plugs used to fill the holes from mounts being removed.

This.

I traded in my 96 Silverado years ago with 4 holes. Dealer said they didn't notice it during inspection and it doesn't hurt trade in price.

Physically not with my time to pull the mounts. Pull the antennas and radios, but not worth the time to just buy new mounts for the next vehicle.

I was told by a Motorola FTR along time ago to mount antennas 24 Inches apart. I have used that as a guide for my mobile installations for over 40 years. I used the same spacing on my EMCOMM trailer.
