BCD160DN/BCD260DN: BCD160DN vs zero volume vs DMR

First...if you don't have a BCD160DN to test/confirm this please do not reply unless you have something useful to add.

Using ProScan I press the "mute" button, but any programmed DMR with a positive volume offset is not fully muted at the headphone jack (it is fully muted on the internal speaker). Analog and NXDN are not affected. The level of the leaking audio is increased the more positive offset I add. When it's happening I can go to "Test&Extras" on ProScan and send the "VOL" command and it will show 0.

Has anyone else seen this or can maybe try it to see if it's isolated to just my unit?

Yes, I can confirm. BCD160DN (image 1) has audio leakage at vol 0. BC125AT (Image 2) no audio leakage at all even with the playback level controls at 30 dB, I hear static only.

Thanks! Odd that I don't hear it on analog or NXDN, but your test seems to confirm it happens.

The reason it's an issue for me is I "mute" before I go to sleep, but the attenuated audio leaking through is audible once everything goes silent for the night.

Issue has been confirmed by Uniden. As soon as I get an update I'll open this back up and post it here.

Since everyone will be focused on the SDS150 I decided to open this back up, lest I forget later.

Anyway, my temporary fix is to use a smart plug and cut power at night to the mini-mixer the 160 audio is piped to.

Kevin could you also not use a IP controlled Dry Contact to open the 160 audio feed wire that would leave the mixer operational.

I could, but I have no need for the mixer to be operational while I'm sleeping and I already had an extra smart plug doing nothing. Thanks for the idea though.
