Auto adjust error, had me a thought on this.
Hey all, i was just thinking as i get ready to prep my `436HP to take it to the UPS store to have it packed & sent off to get the clock battery issue fixed, and i had this thought roamming around in my noggin re, the "auto adjust error" i`ve seen reported here, and that is this. What of the possibility that these units that are comming back with this error might have been damaged in transit between Uniden and the person that sent it? Know that this is NOT the fault of ether you the sender or Uniden, i have the feeling this might be from just plain ol` bad package handling. I was fortunate enough to be working at a warehouse for a kinda well known mail order sports goods seller (Footlocker.com), and in my time there i saw a LOT of sloppy package handling, workers just tossing packages, some with fragile stuff inside, into westpacs & shipping crates, other times they would throw `em like footballs into the trucks as well. Now, if that is happening during the transport of your scanner ether TO uniden of FROM, what ya think is gonna happen? I know this is just a wondering, but i got to thinkin` and after reading some of the posts about it i just had to wonder a smidgen. Yes i know this is just a guess, but given that i`ve worked in package handling for a while i know of some of the funny stuff that can, and does, happen when your (very expensive) `436HP or `536HP is on it`s way to the repair gurus at Uniden. In short, i`d bet it is tested when it comes off the workbench, it`s totally fine & good to go, but likely due to just plain ol` sloppy handling it gets damaged and you end up with a scanner that has that pesky auto adjust issue.
