I have the filter set to OFF and the Control Channel (LCN Disappears) is not holding on it scans it has 5 bars and shows db -45. This is on a provoice system. System ID doesn't flash either. Is this normal? Once awhile the LCN will lock in and sysid flashes than goes away again.

Bars and dBm show the signal level, it could be the signal from the transmitter or an interfering signal mixed with the original one. To test different settings you'll have to look at the D-ERROR value for digital and the NOISE value for analog signals. Those two should be the lowest possible for the best signal, zero being the absolut best value where you have a perfect signal.

Based on such a high RSSI, I'd suspect a strong local-source interference signal.

It seems like some developer said "it would be easier for us to just save it as HEX than convert it to human readeable-labeled folder". And somebody from business accepted this? What is going on Uniden are you serious? This is some bad joke either state clearly somebody there takes hard drugs or admit a failure make a step back and stop this nonsense. This is a shame that users have to fix things like this on their own. Just make it opensource if you are not able to develop this firmware on level higher than LOW please. This will be cheaper and better for everyone.

UPMAN said the conversion to readable form was causing keyboard interrupts that created lag.

Firmware updates are model specific. Updates for SDS100 cannot be applied to versions made for other markets using other model identifiers.

Thankyou Upman ,
Any word on a new update to the Australian version ?
I think the USDS100 could benefit with the update

I finally got around to installing this yesterday and I agree with others that reception seems to have improved. In my case, it's pretty much across the board with a noticeable difference in VHF/UHF. I'm getting a lot less static and signal strength variance. It still seems to occasionally drop 800mhz trunked mid transmission but I've gotten used to it and it is rare. I didn't make any filter adjustments yet. Just installed and turned it on.

P25 is definitely suffering

I've been tinkering with Attenuator (ON) and Filters (Currently AUTO) which has reduced the D-ERROR code. My issue might be the scanner being overly sensitive, but workable.
