I don't have the SDS series scanners; with this update with the earphone jack low volume issue; do you get full volume out with a non amplified lapel speaker?
If so; can the 436 series scanner get a similar update for the earphone jack?

Regarding the "Enhanced squelch sensitivity and control for WFM/FMB modes. (with Sub)" update, has anyone noticed anything different with the squelch? And where do you control the sensitivity besides the normal 0-15 digital settings. The #2 setting (first setting that closes the squelch) is still to tight for me. No difference noted here.

When testing the device on both local and distant FM stations, I observed that for weaker distant stations, the squelch must be set to a high level (12 or above) to effectively mute a signal at -100 dBm. Updated main/sub fixed this.

Yes true, but the lower setting sensitivity has not changed where the real issue is. I thought they finally fixed it after myself and many others brought it to their attention way back.

Oddly enough, just this morning I was wondering if we'd see more software updates.

UPMan posted several times no new features for the x36's due to the limited memory space left in them you should only see updates to fix a problem. The last thing you would want is to introduce a new feature that caused issues and not have the space to fix it.

Thanks for the update, although monitoring the same system, SDS200 is still few seconds behind my G5. I appreciate the R&D supporting the latest update.

The Unications are more dedicated monitors than scanners, which is one factor. Also in the SDS units (and any scanner), the more you have to scan, the slower it monitors what it scans. Always keep these in mind.

But yes, firmware R&D and updating is alive and well at Uniden. I'm grateful for that.

I updated my SDS200 this morning without issue. It's probably my imagination, but there seems to be better reception on VHF and audio is "crisper." Unless that's related to the squelch update.

Other than that I didn't notice any changes.

Squelch update only affected FMB & WFM to my knowledge
