unknown Belmont Co talkgroups

A Belmont Co radio ID was seen on a local IP site yesterday morning. They were logging in/out of the system, and presumably cycling through the talkgroups in different zones in their radio.

Radio ID: 790156 (or 0790156 just to clarify to readers that it is a Belmont radio ID)

Talkgroups joined are listed below (799x and 80xx are belmont co talkgroups). Also of interest is this particular radio actually had access to state fire marshall talkgroups. hmm.

I saw similar affiliations on the South Zanesville site - did not pay any attention to UID, but would bet it was the same.

So some unusual ones - Dept of Agriculture, ALL the Demo TG's.

Encrypted observation

Posting in this thread due to visibility.

Maybe just me - but seeing NO enc. via the South Zanesville site. Also noticed hearing more ODNR in the clear lately .

Been running Pro96Comm for almost a week and unless I am not seeing it, I've seen none.

Anyone have a screen print showing ENC so I can be sure - or a link?

Not sure why your radios do not have those talkgroups. They are part of the standard interop talkgroups that all radio should have programmed.

I checked every group in my radio before I posted and they are not there. Which is weird if all radios are to have them, I even work for a State Agency.

That is very weird.

Even radios that do not use MARCS as the primary system have these interop talkgroups programmed.

Has anyone else heard Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) on TG 61214 from the Franklin County Site? I have been listening for the last few minutes. I am guessing it is either a maintenance or administration TG, but leaning more toward maintenance as they were talking about trying to find a broken down bus on I-71 and Main.

Yes I have. I'm still not sure what it is. COTA talk groups that I hear the most activity on are

61202
61203
61204
61214

Those are the main ones that I am getting too. I am also getting 61266 talking about a yard gate that is open. Maybe a public service TG or something.

Not true. They may be in all radios where you are, but they are optional. Most MARCS customers have them, but they're not mandatory (nor are any of the interop talkgroups). It's strictly user agency preference.

TGs 17546 and 17554

TG 17546
TG 17554

All with various 2590xxx franklin co radio IDs, and all of those radio IDs appearing to be in the same range as the usual MedCare IDs seen on 17510.

Can other confirm the following:
I just ran Unitrunker against the Akron site. On the Site's Info tab for the site being monitored, the Channel Access shows P2 (Phase II). This would seem to indicate that MARCS-IP is now running in Phase II.

Thanks!

I am still getting IP on my 396XT here in Columbus so I know it's not Phase II down here.

The 396XT is getting talkgroups because there aren't any Phase II capable radios on them. Individual talkgroups will be PI/PII. My question is if the site controller is reporting it is capable of Phase II. This can only be done by decoding the control channel.

Gotcha, I will check the sites around me later tonight when I have some time and let you know.

I sure as hell hope not; one phase II scanner ain't in the budget at this time let alone replacing all of mine.
