Man that’s a lot of new TGs for an already established system.

I live in southern Lorain County, almost due west of Akron. I can get the Cuyahoga site but with 2 Yagi antennas. That site has 21 channels with 2 being in the 800 range while the rest are 700. With the 700 alone the 800 barely came in.

Okay; I added most of the active and/or encrypted ones from your Unitrunker logs. Didn’t plug in the ones with very few hits. Let me know if you log additional RIDs on anything and I will add them to the Wiki entries.

ATTENTION: Southern Ohio (and Henry Co) MARCS listeners

See my previous post as well: MARCS-IP ("New MARCS") Site and Talkgroup Discussion

Looks like MARCS is adding freqs to many sites. In addition to those above, more construction notifications filed for new 800 mhz licenses for the following sites (which thus far only have 700 mhz freqs).

2.46 Holgate / Florida (Henry)
WRWF767 - ULS Application - 0010836721 - OHIO, STATE OF
852.5875
853.600
853.825
855.2375
857.0125

3.31 Athalia / Crown City (Lawrence)
WPQG952 - ULS Application - 0010836663 - OHIO, STATE OF - Notification
852.175
852.5625
852.95
858.7125
859.2625
859.4875

3.33 Huntington WV (Wayne Co WV)
WRWE984 - ULS Application - 0010836653 - OHIO, STATE OF - Notification
851.65
852.9125
853.725
858.0875
859.4375
859.7125

If you are in any of these areas and can monitor the sites, please do so and let us know when new frequencies need to be added to the DB for one of these sites.
Thanks

They're quickly learning their dispatch channels are too crowded, and they lack enough tactical channels, or in the case of most agencies, forgetting they can go back to their primary talk group as it's now vacated.

I'd be curious if some smaller agencies, say a Boston Hts, just moves the next contract back to Macedonia, or to Hudson/Peninsula as the Cuyahoga Falls dispatch is overwhelmed with agencies.

Stow, Tallmadge, and Mogadore PD have shared a dispatch talkgroup for years. The only thing that changed for them was the creation of Leads and Services talkgroups to take that traffic off the main. The same applies to Cuyahoga Falls, Munroe Falls, Silverlake, and Boston Hts PD who have been sharing a primary dispatch for many years. If you're going comment, it should be based on facts and not baseless assumptions.

 they added Fairlawn.

Talk to a dispatcher, heck, listen to their channel. It's not working as planned. Direct quote, "Increased call volume, limited resources, workstations that suck, added complexity of incidents involving multiple agencies, lack of previous interoperability, and thrown into the fire training and coordination is hindered by inefficient management."

Is your comment based on fact, or just anecdotal? If it's fact, quote your sources and some reliable statistics. In my experience the problem has almost always been insufficient staffing; it's a high-stress job that has never been a popular choice as a career, a high percentage of the people who start the job can't hack it, and those who make it quickly suffer from overwork and burnout. Shift work just makes it more difficult; in my day, second and third shift were no picnic (especially third). Burnout happened to me too, and I enjoyed the job.

Is your experience based on the HR goals of the agency or your own? Do you have actual staffing level numbers to provide the forum or just your own guess?

We could play this game all day.

Stow and Tallmadge PDs were never on the same TG or frequency (vhf back in the day).
Both are very busy agencies. However, with MDTs and cellphones, the new shared TG seems to be working out.
