I the second case that Todd was referring to of the WIO blanking out. All it took was a simple disconnect from the MicroP25RX and reloading the WIO terminal firmware. There is no need to reload the MicroP25RX. Just figured I should speak up in case someone else has an issue with this.

When this Wio issue happened to you, do you recall if you were in Roaming Mode?
I have been using my Wio for many months on the P25RX and now the Micro. I have never seen this happen. Just trying to gather info for troubeshooting.

yes a firmware flash, not sure why. I did not change anything all went blank. good news if flashing the Wio brought it back

Roaming was off. It was in Config mode either writing or restoring a backup.

Forgive me, I am not that great with computer files. Anyway, I have a P25RX-II, can I take the Alias file and copy it to the SD card on the microP25RX? I don’t want to put all the TG’s back in on the micro…..😬🤔

If you want to import your p25rx_alias.csv file, then you have to rename it to: alias-wwww-sss.csv where wwwww = lower-case hex WACN, and sss = lower case SYS_ID. The filename needs to be lower case.

Question: I have observed on the MicroP25 that once in awhile it will display “NAC CHANGED”. I saw it twice yesterday and once just a moment ago. I have never seen this on the P25RX-II. Is this unique to the Micro? What reason would it change? 🤔

Thank you for reporting that. The NAC is checked by FEC, but it is not validated by a CRC. This is a weakness in P25 in my opinion. The P25RX/P25RX-II/MicroP25RX takes an extra step to "validate" the NAC because the correct value is essential for P2/TDMA decodes to be correct. I will increase the requirements for the NAC to be "validated". Look for an update to the firmware shortly.

New testing firmware is available. MicroP25RX fw 11-28-01, Wio Terminal fw 11-28-02. A lock-up issue when adding a new site, changing the DEMOD mode, followed by saving the config with the top-middle button for > 3 seconds was still present. It should be fixed now. The new default demod mode is LSM. The issue with the Wio terminal losing application flash is not reproducible, but is believed to be a potential running-out-memory type error. Lots of ram was freed up in the latest version. The bottom line displays Free ram. If you have any issues please report them.

There is another small update to the Wio fw. 11-28-03. This doesn't change functionality, but fixes a display glitch when entering values with the keyboard. I forgot to say thanks to goldmyne99 in the previous post. He helped with tracking down potential issue with low-memory and solutions.

Thanks. You will see the NAC change when you first add a site. This will enable the learn mode. After that, you shouldn't see the message unless it actually changes.
