I was just on MPSCS Macomb County 50 Warren, it's working just fine Warren police and fire are both here.

I figured out what they did. Only PD/FD are on MPSCS. All other Warren TG's were left on the old system and were not added to MPSCS.

We have received information from more than one source that Lapeer and St. Clair Counties, are planning to encrypt all public safety talkgroups on the MPSCS. Apparently, this is being done for safety concerns for first responders. Does anyone know when this move is planned to take effect?

I'm checking with the dispatcher in Richmond who is a personal friend of mine. He usually gets clued in on changes well in advance. Some things he can disclose, some he can't.

I've been hearing some encryption on Fenton Police Dispatch. So far it's limited use, but I'm sure that will change.

TGs 11801 & 11806-Numerous units with Kent County RIDs calling Big Rapids Hospital.
Big Rapids Hospital also called itself "Dispatch". A unit calling itself "Big Rapids 271" appeared on both talkgroups with the RID 9413182. Big Rapids Hospital/Dispatch has RIDs of 3000048 & 3000049. Other units noted were 249, 109, 323, 105, and "Big Rapids 124".
Logged with HP2E Discovery mode on the Big Rapids tower.

This ought to be fun to figure out!

Additional info: Most of the traffic was occurring on 11806.

Based on a guess based on accent of dispatcher on ( Current / Old ) DMR system I'm going with Spectrum Health. They have facilities outside of Grand Rapids and based on 11801 TG traffic sounds like Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Listening to today's traffic on Discovery Mode on the Big Rapids tower, these sound like Spectrum Health security channels.
11801 is Channel 1, 11806 is Channel 2.
Unit 323 was at Reed City, I've also heard Kelsey and United mentioned.
I don't know if Big Rapids, Reed City, Kelsey, and United are the only hospitals on here, or if there are more.

Ron, i don't who or where you heard it from. But per Brad Stoddard No, st.clair county cannot afford the changes. There has been huge legal issues regarding that. If you check the forum threads I did respond to the Phase 2 Rumors. Edgar

The Chase tower, west of Reed City, is now on the air with a CC of 853.0625, Tower ID of 3-048, and a NAC of 794.

Add TG 11814 to possible Spectrum Health Group .. per Pro 96 com radio Id 9413234 was on 11814 previously on 11801.

I just picked it up and both sides (dispatch and the responding car) were in the clear.

I also just noticed Genesee Co PD north and south are marked as encrypted now but I'm hearing dispatch and cars in the clear too.

Your radios must be messed up if you're hearing encryption on these three TG's.

Obviously they were testing, because yes, they are in the clear or it's just starting to roll out.
Just today:
0136hrs 25P911S rid 9254354 encrypted
2226hrs 393P911 rid 9254590 encrypted
1831hrs 25P911S rid 9254572 encrypyed

You're ok for now, but these are the last days before Genesee goes dark.

There's been comfirmed encryption logged recently on all three of those TGs.

Pro-Comm likely received the final template back and has began programming the new radios.

You might not like it, but the last days of Genesee County monitoring are upon us.

To me it's all still unconfirmed rumors. I'll believe it when I hear it myself.

That's fine. It's been in the works for a while and is currently nearing roll out.

Okay well who are the people in the screenshot of a paragraph from an unnamed document without a source cited and where are they from? I don't see anything about Genesee County or any departments in it.

There does not appear to be any plans with a date set to encrypt Macomb County Sheriff in Michigan. It's been discussed over the years, but it doesn't appear to be anything that will happen anytime soon.

I'm also being told that when portions of MPSCS upgrade to P2, you will also still be able to monitor those areas with a P1 scanner.
