MPSCS Sites/Talkgroups 2018

I never said there was a new tower or site, I just took some photos of a tower in the same area that a new site is licensed, at the request of others on this thread. I noted that it has a new antenna on it in recent weeks. I never stated it was a MPSCS site. I also stated that I have unitrunker watching the Waters MPSCS site and it does not see a new peer site in the gaylord area. Together, this would Imply that there is not a new site that is active. I assumed this was clear, but I guess not.

If you have more information to share, please do so. If you do not... then don't.

Can anyone confirm if the new Gaylord tower is online or not? It's supposed to be right next to the Gaylord MSP Post. Likewise, is the tower constructed and ready to go or not? Apparently, its going to be a low profile site with a limited footprint.

I have unitrunker monitroing the waters tower. It sees Grayling, Gaylord North, Vanderbilt, Chestonia, Atlanta South, Deward, Lovells as peers.... Nothing on the new tower.

This isn’t intended to be an argument clearly you mentioned “nothing on the new tower”. All I did was make a statement.

According to a reliable source, until the ASTRO 7.17 upgrade is completed across the state in all zones within 30-90 days, no new tower sites will be coming online. Once the upgrade is completed, then you will likely see a few sites, especially Gaylord come online.

Does anyone know if the Northville tower is broadcasting with lower power?

I have always been able to pick up Northville, from Commerce Twp, but now can't hear much of anything... My new SDS-100 says the RSSI is in the -100 to -110dBm, which will pick it up occasionaly, but it seems none of my other scanners pick it up... Strangely, my pro-96 picks it up when outside, and the 800mhz rubber duck.

But, my 996t, pro-197, 796D all, cannot hear it all, even though they used to get it just fine...


Any ideas?

When I am in that area, I have lost the ability to pick up the Northville tower, having to rely on the Holly tower.

Pro96Com on Grand Rapids Tower ( Site 3 42 ) is showing a new tower connected. Well it was connected as of 5 minutes ago ... showed a control channel 856.XXX ... checking now status shows " Failed, current" Control channel shows 854.6875 ... site ID 3 45 ( Hex T032D). New Ottawa county site?

I just tested the new Site ID for Ottawa county Simulcast and my G4 did not connect. The tower may just be down again at this point. However they must be getting close to switching as I drove by the Allendale Fire department today and there where three tele-rad communications vehicles at the station working on the chiefs car.

TG 5345-Logged Alpha 151 informing Kalkaska Central Dispatch that they were clear of the Health Center.
Logged with HP-2E Discovery mode on the Big Rapids tower.

TG 13422-Allegan County Central Dispatch and unit David 2 logged on the Big Rapids tower with HP-2E Discovery mode. David 2 referred to the channel as "Transport" and was clearing Mecosta County enroute to Kent County.

New antennas on the Pontiac tower now. Appears to be the new blue/green looking 700/800 antennas MPSCS has been replacing old ones with on other sites. Haven't checked to see if on air yet.
