MPSCS Sites/Talkgroups 2024

1011 has Emmet and Cheboygan Counties RIDs on it, G-EVENT02. Not sure what exactly it's being used for, as it's only come up once or twice for me today off River Central and Rapid City.

22:55 Update: Units are referring to themselves as '701' (Cheboygan) and '703' (Emmet).

From what I can determine, as of the April 26th, Allegan County Central (TGID 3211) has gone encrypted.

Grand Traverse Radio ID's, Grayling site... 7xx units. 4863 was called 'com' had a request to go to 'tac 1'. Saw the same radio ID's on 4865, encrypted.

That would be correct. EMS and Fire are dispatched on separate TGs in Missaukee.

That's wohld be District 7 Auxcomm. We have 28 id because we are based out of GT (per mpscs application) with multiple talkgroups that run encryption and some statewide tgs. We cover more than D7 in some cases for NWS activations

I guess a group ID would be good for a report? It was 4873

Tg 22810 is used for auxcomm in SE MI.

Today, there was a crane at the Isabella County Central Dispatch placing the transmitter for the new tower.
The tower itself still hasn't been started yet.

The MPSCS is planning to implement a multi-site simulcast cell in Berrien County. So far the following applications have been filed with the FCC:

Yes, Berrien County has decided to implement a new simulcast cell on the MPSCS. This will replace the stand-alone tower sites serving the county at this time. In fact, Barry County is also doing the same thing.

I believe you'll find that simulcast cells will be the new trend going forward. Spectral efficiency seems to be the driving force. It's a lot easier to manage a simulcast cell with 10-15 channel pairs opposed to many individual sites with 40-50 channel pairs in the same geographic area.

Site 3-014 Licenses are WPNT241 and WRQV618, both located at 12781 Shaner Rd. Cedar Springs.

The Glendora site is a completely new tower. The current word is it should be up and running fall of 2024 but it is not clear if simulcast will occur before or after.
