Hello ScanYak,
Unfortunately there is not any way to run multiple instances of RadioLog. RadioLog was written from the start to be able to start one instance and have all your feeds in one spot. I may make a change in the future to allow you to specify just a single group to be started/displayed at some point in the future. I would need to do a lot of planning to make something like that work though (updates could be a huge roadblock).

I see a mute all feature but is this only done manually or can you set it to mute all by audio activation of a feed?

Joe,

Nice updates!!

Issues I am still having - Cannot connect to all my feeds, it connects and disconnects immediately. Very erratic behavior, sometimes it connects other times it will not and if I disable another feed it may connect.

I checked through RadioReference and the feeds not connecting are active.

Audio activity light stays stuck on, on some feeds, but it appears that function in general stays on longer during pauses in audio, not sure it is 100% yet. Again this is erratic, sometimes it is ok and then not ok.

Did you do any work on the audio, the volume slider seems to allow better control, but I would like to be able to control even more. Some feeds are way too loud and the lowest volume segment is still too loud.

As I have mentioned before, some of these issue may be related to windows 8.1 on my computer.

Thanks for the updates and program.

Johnmac::

I had similar issues with the audio. I went in and adjusted the audio levels for the computer only, then tried listening to the feeds. Then if needed, readjusted the computer audio levels again. Then tried several of the feeds on Radiolog. The sound level was easier to get the right volume, but still had to tweek it especially every time I had to reboot the RadioLog software.

Right now I am satisfied with the way it works, but there are still times, depending on the feed, I still have to adjust the individual feed audio.

Like I mentioned earlier that has help me with the audio frustration.

One thing I did notice that depending on how many feeds you have running using the RadioLog software, each feed uses a certain amount of memory.

In my case I had to close some pages and browsers, etc, in order to run the feeds I wanted. I always though I had enough memory to run everything, but I guess with 17 windows plus open, I was using a whole bunch of memory and RadioLog at that time was the hog.

I had to condense the open windows which resolved the problem and it also helped on the feeds that I was running.

Didn't mean to run on, but thought if you had not thought about it or considered it, it might be a suggestion or food for thought.

Hello Everyone,
As you may have noticed, there was a flurry of updates over the past few days. Here was numerous audio noise issues resolved. If you have not tried this feature yet, it removes all of the white noise you typically hear when a feed does not have any audio.

t0pk01ne, I will be making a change to the volume control that will go from the current 0-10 scale to a 0-100 scale. This will allow a much finer grain volume adjustment.

There is now a QR code displayed on the streaming audio editor. This code is for use by the iPhone app. The app has a QR code reader built in that you can create a new feed from by scanning the code. Hopefully Apple is done with the review in the next day or two (stuck on "Waiting for Review" for over a week) and there is not any more additional changes they need.

Thanks,
Joe

Been playing around with the fireground feature, very nice work.

Any thought of having an option to play a sound when a emergency is received?

Also a feature to load the radio list from a server URL. Would like to update radio list remotely and have it download on startup

tbendick,
I can add playing an audio file when an emergency is received. If you have any suggestions, feel free to email them to me at support@responderapps.com as long as there is no copyrights.

As far as the online radio list, that is a feature that will be rolled out with the Mac version (Windows version will have it as well). Here is a brief overview of what I have done so far. Feel free to make comments/suggestions:
1) A user creates a login on my site, and optionally joins user groups.
2) Users can then create "lists" of different radios. Generally, a list would be all the radios for an Agency.
3) Each feed can select which lists to use, and the priority of the list.
4) If a detected radio is not in any list, it is added to a "to be synced" queue.
5) Users can select when the lists are updated (Manual/Startup/Daily/Hourly, manual is always available).
6) When you log into the site, there is a list of detected signals that are not in any list. This shows the Signaling Type/ID/Feeds detected on/Scanner Tag when detected/Timestamp. From there the item can be added into a list, or a new list created for those items.
7) Feed lists can be Private, Group Read-Only, Public Read-Only, Public Editable, Group Editable or "Limited Disclosure". "Limited Disclosure" means people in your group can see all fields but others only see certain fields (like no names).

Apple has finally decided to move the process along with the iPhone app. The Mac version is still "Waiting for Review" after the last round of changes they requested. The iPhone app will be available within 24hrs.

As I had mentioned earlier, any existing customers will receive free coupon codes for both the iPhone and/or Mac versions upon request. This offer runs out at midnight tonight, so orders after midnight are not eligible.

Thanks,
Joe

tbendick,
I have posted an update that has support for playing a sound file on an emergency alarm. This update also has a new display layout mode. The web site will be updated appropriately later.

Joe,

I reset the program in windows "Programs and Features" and got the program working on ver 49 and then updated to ver 52 and it is working again.

Volume control seems much better at this point, thanks.

Am able to connect to more feeds than before, but not all that I have, which is about 27. Not that I would listen to that many anyway.

Thanks for the updates.

Hello everyone. Apple has finally blessed the first app after numerous days in "Preparing for Appstore" stage. Depending on where you are it became available between Sunday night and today. If you had requested a coupon, check your inbox. If I missed anyone, please let me know. This first version is very simple due to the initial complexities of the Apple review. The second version is already submitted which adds signal decoding and noise suppression. Anyone that is interested, you can find the app at Radio Feedz.

Also, there will be an update to the windows app later tonight. This update will fix an issue where a feed goes offline but the Icecast server (i.e. broadcastify.com) does not disconnect and continues to send heartbeats. This will resolve issues where users see that a feed is still active, but no audio is coming thru.

I've downloaded the trial version and got a couple feeds working but...my own feed on Broadcastify doesn't come up when I search for feeds in Washington County, Illinois. Is there some way I can find out the URL for my feed so I can manually put it in?

from an earlier post

To add Broadcastify feeds do the following:

1. Change the "Player Selection" type to iTunes.
2. Right-click on the Play button in the listen column.
3. Select "copy link address" or the equivalent your browser shows (I use Chrome).
4. Paste the link into the "Streaming Audio URL" box in RadioLog.

Actually to make it even easier there is an option in the settings called "Enable Clipboard Integration". When you right click and "copy link address" a dialog box for a new source should automatically appear with the Streaming Audio URL field backfilled with the copied link.

Great program. I really like it better then any scanner I've owned. Will there be a manual available? I'm confused by the name Fireground Mode. Maybe firegroud mode is only for directly attached digital scanners, don't know. Also the number of display modes keeps increasing but by the label used I don't understand what they are or when they are supposed to be used. Maybe some tips would be good to orient those of us that do not have a background in dispatch software.
