For the SDS100, we have the "Selection" screen upon USB connect that the 536 and 436 do not get that asks for USB Mass Storage or Serial Mode. Is there any way to lock the SDS100 to serial mode? Whenever my system I have broadcasting this rebooted (Dang Windows 10 updates...) I lose connectivity if I am not home.

That was one reason I had stayed away from Windows 10 for so long. But when you get a new computer nowadays it's not like you have a big choice if it's a Windows PC :)

I do think that you can set Windows 10 up now to where it will not automatically reboot until you decide you are ready to do it. Just an idea in case it's a venti help.

I know when I went to see my old girlfriend up in Oregon last year, she had a ton of Windows updates on her Windows 10 PC that came from her company and they had not been applied yet so I did it for her. But from what I understood and have heard, you can keep Windows 10 from automatically rebooting if you set it up to allow the operator to decide when to apply the updates and restart the PC. I just got a new PC and I have not set it up yet so I can't say this is a fact. But I'm pretty sure it is the case now.

It does go into Serial Port mode automatically. The problem is the serial port driver to scanner communications goes down when the computer reboots. The scanner needs to be power cycled to get the driver communications started again. This is the same problem as the BCD996P2 and SDS200. No solution on the SDS100. If using a BCD996P2, solution is to use the rear DB-9 port. If using the SDS200, solution is to use the LAN.

As letarotor mentioned, see if the computer will not reboot if Windows has updates.

Thank you for this information! Seems like something Uniden should fix as it seems like a firmware issue on their end then. Or they can change it so the microUSB dedicated to power/Serial, and miniUSB to power/charging/mass storage or something. I've actually been eyeing a SDS200 so i can keep my SDS100 portable with me, so using that with a network port may be my solution for now at least. Either way good to know its not just me!

I just bought a brand new Uniden SDS100 a few days ago. I am considering buying the ProScan software. Here are the the things that I like to do most with my scanners. Please tell me how ProScan deals with these.

-Fire Tone Out Search Log: I would like to program my Uniden SDS100 to perform Fire Tone Out Search. Will ProScan log all of the found information correctly?

-Unattended History Logging: I like to scan or search frequencies and log the selective signalling information found with them. For example:

>Analog Frequencies: Log the PL/DPL found.

>Digital Frequencies: Log the Color Code, Time Slot & Talkgroup ID for DMR/MOTO TRBO

Log the NAC Code for APCO P25

Log the NXDN/IDAS RAN Codes and Talkgroup Numbers

Don't forget you get a free 30 day fully functioning trial to try before you buy. I highly recommend you do that also to see if the software fits your needs.

I am trying it now. Thank you for the tip.

Can I simply cut and paste from the History Log so I can look at activity or do I have to do something else to get it to a Word document?

There's a tab specifically for FTO. It should work however I haven't tested it recently.

The CTCSS/DSC/RAN/Color Code/NAC codes are logged in the Tone column. DMR slots are appended to the Frequency. The TGID's are logged to the TGID column.

Select the rows that you want copied then click the "Copy/Move Selected Rows to Database or Other File" button.

Thank you. That is pretty neat.

Can I also configure this to lock out channels/talkgroups after they are logged?

Yes, look in the upper right corner of ProScan directly to the right of the Virtual Display. You should see a box with a square or X. Click that to toggle the view. You shall see a Resume Scan/Search option. Set that to some time then choose temporary or permanent LO.

No but you could setup the web server function to listen or you could use the free version of teamviewer remote pc control software it works on PC APPLE and ANDROID video and audio.

What's the best way to listen only on iPhone? Just typing in the stream URL into Chrome and playing the stream like I would with an IceCast server? I was also using TuneIn Radio and adding a custom URL for my Icecast stream. Just need to listen remotely. Thanks for the help.

I thought the mute button was fixed on this new version, maybe the next one.

Care to be more specific so that we know what you're talking about? I don't see any recent mention of issues with the mute button in this thread, and judging by Bob's post right above mine, you haven't emailed him to submit a bug report.

Just a guess, but perhaps you are attempting to mute an SDS100/200 that you are connected to locally via LAN/WiFi, listening through your computer speakers by enabling the Loopback feature on the Audio Control > Monitor and Test screen? If so, then I'll point out that the mute button has never silenced the loopback audio.
