Does anyone here leave a PC or tablet connected to their proscan server full time?

I do, I use a little android tablet to connect to my server in my basement. I've noticed the audio connection disconnects on its own, but I am still connected to the server. Usually, I can just hit the play button and I'm off to the races again.

I'd like to know if this is a bug, or something I can fix but adjusting a setting in the server software.

The LAN audio module in the scanner is kind of finicky. If the scanner LAN doesn't receive the keep-alive packet then the whole audio module stops responding. Uniden could have implemented a watch dog timer for this type of problem.
For a test, use VLC audio player to connect to the scanner LAN and see what happens.

I misread that. so disregard that. Try lowering the Sample Rate and see what happens. Also try an external player to see if it improves.

Does anyone have an easy or automated way to save the daily log files from ProScan? I'd like to use the daily hit data for some statistical exercises.

Thanks!
I take a Screen Shot of ProScan activity if I'm using to research frequencies, talk groups, etc. Just scroll the page down and take multiple screen shots if you have a long list like I do sometimes. On Windows, hit the Windows and Print buttons at same time on keyboard.

Just installed Proscan, I see no current manual on how to use it. Not at all intuitive. I'm using an SDS200. The PC to radio part is straight forward (I'm a Network Engineer), that's not the issue. I see the radio panel on the monitor, now what? Can someone point me in the direction of a good tutorial, I've seen many that are just not helpful. Thanks

For starters, do you have it running, where you actually see the same thing you see on your scanner. Sorting is also straightforward. You can use Proscan to edit your systems' on your scanner. You can even use the Channel Finder to look to see if you have duplicate frequencies.

It looks like you have ProScan communicating with the scanner. The next thing you may want to do is change the display colors to match the scanner colors. Go to the Options - Scanner Specific tab then find the "Display Color Mode" option and change it to "Use Sentinel Display Colors" then click the button "Sentinel profile.cfg File Location" then navigate to the Sentinel profile you're using then hit the OK button.

I'm not sure what you want to do. If you want to use the Favorites Editor then click the Favorites Editor box in the upper left area of the menu. Once the Favorites Editor is loaded then choose New then choose a Folder or you can open an existing Sentinel Favorites.

Thank you to everyone who responded. Thank you ProScan. I have Sentinel on a different PC than ProScan, so I now have the "colors" sorted and displayed.
My question:
What, briefly is the main usage of ProScan? I'm just trying to understand it can be used for.
Thank you again

Proscan has a wide variety of functions... more so than any other software out there by a large margin. As far as a main usage, there are so many great functions available that would appeal to different users for their main use. This list is from the first paragraph on the Proscan website:

• Database Programming • Web Server (remote control using web browser)

• History, UID, & FTO Logging • Remote Scanner Over IP
• Source Client (for streaming audio to servers)

• Band Scope • Control Channel Monitoring

• Recorder • Audio Flow Diagram

• Sessions Manager

And many, many other features, tools, customizations, and controls. This quote by Bob is a very accurate description....

ProScan is the most powerful and feature rich scanner software in the world !!!

The only way to truly appreciate the scope of Proscan is to dive in and explore every nook and cranny that's in the program... and you will find many more than one "main" usage.

Just one of my (many) favorite functions is the built in web server. I can view, listen to, and control my scanners from anywhere in the world with available internet.. on a computer or a smart phone.
