Are you using the LAN for the audio? Can you check these settings. In the morning, check the Audio Control - Recorders tab and see if the meter shows audio.

Good Morning. Here are the things you asked me to check. Without changing anything, all new recordings made this morning are recording and playing fine. Everything recorded yesterday or today before I tried some new scan groups act like they are playing but are entirely blank. This is the case even if no recordings were appended after midnight (I thought maybe the day change was the cause, but not the case). Anyway, here are the screen shots.

Good Morning,
Are you using the LAN method for the audio? If so then then Win Mixer doesn't come into the picture. Next time it goes down, check the ProScan Audio Control - Recorders tab and see if you have audio there. If you're using the sound card mixer then look at the Recording tab, not the Playback side like your screenshot shows.

@ProScan
Even though, both. My SDS100 n' BCD436HP are being recorded by Proscan. I am having trouble, trying to write to both scanners.

When trying to write to SDS100, my PC is saying to scan the drive.

When I try to write to my 436, I don't get that error message, but-

Proscan freezes on both of them.

Any ideas

TIA
Is it freezing or maybe you just have to wait longer for the operation to complete. Did the problem just start? I would investigate the "PC is saying to scan the drive" problem. Is that coming from Windows or Windows Defender, or another security type of program?

The 'scan the drive' message, when trying to update FLs' on the SDS100. Started a week ago.

When I click on 'Scanner Write', on either one. They lock up.

Yes, I am using LAN and the problem of empty audio files is only with those that were recorded over night. Any new recording (not an existing one appended to) works as it should. If I delete the empty recordings and start over, the recordings are again working fine. It appears to be long term recordings that go blank. All of them in fact. Even the existing recordings that worked fine earlier go blank over night. It appears that they were appended to and the length of the recording is what would be expected. Other MP3 players won't play them either. This doesn't make any sense to me. I am really liking ProScan otherwise.

It could be corruption of the data from the scanner. I would monitor the Packet Loss to see if greater that 0.

I think I have things working right now. During a long time of non-use on the computer yesterday, the same thing happened, BUT, this time the appended recordings were in the file but all of the previous recordings in the file were now blank. This looked like some kind of time out issue. I had sleep and hibernation settings set to "Never" all along but noticed the Power Profile was set to "Balanced". I changed it to "Performance" and manually set the display to where it was and all worked fine this morning. You have to be careful making ANY changes to the power scheme except in the Advanced section or Windows 11 power settings or it will automaticaly swith it back to "Balanced". I will see what the future brings but looks like the cause has been found.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I woke up to the same old problem of blank audio again today. I am not sure what to try next since all the above checks out. I did find that this occured to someone else in this forum a couple of years back. Unfortunately, it was closed and it didn't help me figure things out in my case.

ProScan: - ProScan recording long periods of silence overnight when windows 10 pc sleeps.

I will keep looking but not sure what else to try.

What does the Packet Loss show?

This is from this morning. I only had a few loggings since a birdie caused hours of recording only noise. The few remaining audio files were fine.

I changed a setting in the computer BIOS Power Management / Block Sleep to on which is supposed to overide the OS sleep commands but it didn't help. I left ProScan running For two days and found that the earliest recordings were fine but the latter ones went blank again BUT any new recordings this morning were appended to the now blanked out portions of the recordings. I sorted the recordings by End Date/Time and found that the transition to blanked recordings did occur at midnight for whatever reason. That's where the recordings went blank except for new comms appended to the end. Anymore thoughts? Kind of frustrating to keep losing the recordings.

I see the packet loss is 0%. That should be a true indicator that the LAN connection is good without interruption.. On the BCD536HP using the Wi-Fi, packet loss is around 4% so that's why I think it's a true indicator. But just in case it's not, check out the bottom two tips. If you have a spare ethernet cable, you may try that. Also if using mp3 format, change it to wav or vice versa.

I am using the SDS200 and the IP has been excluded in my BitDefender AV. ProScan also has an exclusion in in my NordVPN which I have tried disabling completely with no improvement.

I will try switching from MP3 to WAV.

What am I doing wrong with the webserver function? I'm simply wanting to listen to my SDS200 on my LAN. I've used it before but now I'm missing something. I read the manual, searched across this thread, but still no bueno. I'm using 192.168.193.182:5000 as the url in my browser on windows 11.

Thanks for any help.

1st off, I see you posted the Published Server tab.. That's just a directoy and has nothing to do with the connection working or not.
Are you trying to access the web server from inside your network or outside? Since you are using the outside address on your browser, the router port fowarding needs to be setup. That's in the manual. Use Open Port Check Tool -- Verify Port Forwarding on Your Router to test it.
I see now you are using the inside address. It should work. I see the server is off. Did you switch routers recently?

Thanks for the quick reply. This is one of those red in the face moments where you'd see me slapping my forehead for missing the obvious.
Pushing the START button would have helped. You are a kind soul for putting up with me.
Thanks as always for an amazing program!

is it possible to import into Proscan a frequency file from SDR#? The list would be conventional frequencies. Thanks.
